I thought we could use a mix all thread for a bit.
St John’s is smoking UConn right now, Arizona Seems to be handling Houston for the time being. Does Arky beating Vandy help us ?
From the look of it we are a 4 seed in the West with a road coming to St John’s again.

4 seed most likely, last bracket had us in UM bracket with TT as our second round match. Don’t love any of that

I agree.
Probably my most memorable thing from being at the tournament so far.
Todd Golden looks at one of the assistants after Vandy transitions a quick layup and says “get him over here (number 3) and teach that motherfricker how to transition!!”
I laughed my arse off.

Don’t want to see St. John’s in the 2nd round

They just obliterated UConn.

Wisconsin just exchanged with St John’s on our bracket.

Bracketologists are fairly good at seeding, generally gets everyone seeded correctly, plus or minus a seed.
But, I don't think they do well at region placements other than the 1 seeds.
As far as Bama is concerned, I don't think losing to Ole Miss last night will be detrimental with the committee, but I also think they might punish us for that midseason Bediako experiment .

Prior to Nate Oats, Alabama basketball achieved a No. 4 seed or better in the NCAA Tournament 4 times ('82, '87, '91, '02).
With a 4 seed tomorrow, Bama will achieve that mark in 4 STRAIGHT YEARS and 5 of the last 6 under Nate Oats.
A lot to be proud of as a Bama hoops fan.

Think it comes down to how much committee values H2H as to whether we hang on to 4 seed. St. John’s has generally better metrics across the board now, won 2/3 against UConn, and won both Big East Championships. Arkansas is almost completely tied with us in metrics, but would jump us if they won today (don’t think committee moves seeds around much for Sunday games, but since we are both SEC they could likely just swap us if Arky won and not have an impact). If the committee thinks Arkansas wins the H2H on a neutral court given it was in OT in Ttown, they may discount the H2H as Arky would have better metrics if that game was flipped.
Lastly, I have no idea what to say about the Bediako thing…may or may not have a marginal impact. If it were me, I’d probably have to give the nod to a double champion of a major conference with better metrics despite the early season H2H loss…but that’s just me.
Bama:
Net: 18
WAB: 14
Kenpom: 17
#2 seed in SEC
Beat St John’s in NY; Arky in Ttown in OT
St. John’s
Net: 15
WAB: 13
Kenpom: 16
Big East regular season and tournament championship
Arkansas
Net: 17
WAB: 15 (with a game to play)
Kenpom: 18
#3 seed in SEC due to H2H tiebreaker

The Bediako thing should be a non story for selection. MULTIPLE teams are using player with pro experience. If they do, it's just a reason to hate on Alabama.

ESPN SOR and BPI both have us 1 spot ahead of SJU, with Arky materially higher on SOR (#10) but several spots below on BPI (#18). It’s so close between all 3 teams, committee could really do any of them and justify it.
Just for info to those that may not know, SOR is a resume strength index similar to WAB and BPI is an efficiency or “predictive” index similar to NET & Kenpom.

jmo, but i think sankey coming out against bama and bediako gave everyone permission to punish bama. we've seen it on the court. i'm thinking the committee will follow suit. regardless of all that, it still comes down to putting the ball in the hoop. i'm hoping this team goes on a good run in accomplishing that.

Finally someone is thinking like me.
I hate it, but this is my fear. Hopefully it doesn't happen. But there is always that one team that gets seeded mysteriously low. Like a 6 seed when some pundits were thinking a 3 seed for a team.
At the very least, they'll ship us out west for the first rounds.

I hope that doesn’t happen but Sackless Sanks really showed his true colors when he made that statement.

Sankey is so bad. Not to derail a basketball thread, but the way he got played by the Big 10 to move us to 9 games in football should have gotten him fired. He’s terrible

This Arky/Vandy game is highly entertaining. SEC had a great NCAAT last year and hoping we can get a few teams to outperform their seed this year as well.

This is a really good game. That hard hit on Acuff is bothering him.
Posted on 3/15/26 at 1:46 pm to CrimsonBoz
Sankey should at the very least be Persona Non Grata in TTown, the SOB. Especially if we get screwed by the committee.
Posted on 3/15/26 at 2:19 pm to antibarner
Acuff is incredible. I honestly don’t think Bama deserves to be ahead of Arkansas at this point, but I’d take it anyway if they gave it to us.
