Anybody heard of why?
So far:
- B1G only plays P4 conference members
- the P/O committee doesn’t factor in your non-conference schedule
- Conferences going silo & full conf. schedules
- Mergers/realignment

The committee has shown that wins matter more than losses and they don't care who they come against.
It makes no sense to schedule big OOC games when it's being viewed that way by the committee.

uhh..common sense?
The SEC already has the hardest gauntlet as is, and that was without even playing 9 conference games. Throw in another 3-4 games against high level competition in teh playoffs. Why on earth would anyone make things harder for themselves?
Texas is very likely in the playoffs last year if they beat a tomato can in the opener instead of losing to OSU.

Which of those teams is a P4 team?
I think what OP meant was that the only P4 teams the B1G is putting on their schedule are other B1G teams - not SEC, not ACC, not Big XIi.

...because we reap what we sow.
This is a product of the 9 game schedule mostly

Well this is just stupid. How else are you going to compare conferences to each other?

Cuz who wants to see Clemson vs uga when we can watch uga vs Arkansas, who wants to see mizzou vs Illinois or Kansas when we could watch mizzou vs usce, who wants to see okie st and ou play when we could Kentucky vs ou. Unc vs South Carolina no thanks much rather watch lsu vs vandy. I get why teams are doing it but it sucks. It’s insane flagship state schools that border each other won’t play anymore. Texas tech vs atm or Texas would have been electric this past year or this upcoming year. Mizzou Kansas, unc usce, even when these teams aren’t good it’s still good tv when they get together. I am happy that atm and Tex are playing again.

Well, that's false.
They only play FBS (no FCS), but definitely not only P4.
Indiana's non-conference schedule next year is:
North Texas
Howard
Western Kentucky
Did I miss when the MEAC and CUSA became P4 conferences?

I suppose some people may take Indiana's non-conference schedule from last year as proof of this.

Gotcha...I misunderstood. I thought the OP was saying that the only OOC teams the B1G plays are P4 members.
If you are talking about other P4 teams.

Didn’t know mizzou and Illinois relit the rivalry, good on them. If players are making all this money now fans deserve games they can be invested in.

Because beating your chest for beating the hell out of inferior teams is celebrated these days.

That's what Notre Dame did after playing Arkansas this year

Playoff committee should step in and say only thing they’re going to consider are wins against P4 teams.
So if you go 11-1 but have 3 g5 wins then your record is considered 8 wins.
