What are we giving up this year?

I’ll be giving up the Rant (all boards) per usual.

I’ll also be giving up processed carbs and phone/scrolling/surfing time after work when I get home.

Adding in a daily Rosary.

And of course, no red meat on Fridays.

I’ll see y’all on the other side.

John 1:1,14:

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

And the Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth.

If the Braves have anymore Spring Training injuries I might sub that out for chocolate or pasta at that point.

Where in the bible does it command you to give up red meat on Fridays? I've always been curious of this.

1st: I really have no clue as to how to answer your question, Landmass…I’m not exactly what most folks would remotely consider to be a “Biblical Scholar

2nd: I’m about to veer off into a completely unrelated tangent not at ALL associated or related to OP “topic

3rd: Given…that’s generally what we do here on the SEC OT with any given “topic” of discussion on a consistently regular basis with regards to my aforementioned “2nd” reference listed above

4th: in regards to the the topic of “No Beef on Fridays” notwithstanding as a general practice of some selected denominations of Christianity …

…How ‘bout the Jews & the Muslims???

They (generally) ABSOLUTELY HATE each other as a general observational rule.

However?…they both have some common ground & VERY similar views on the consumption of SWINE.

Personally?..,I wholeheartedly respect everyone’s rights and individual perspectives on how they perceive, practice, and exercise their respective religious beliefs.

Also…I actually do have quite a culturally diverse group in my circle of close friends.

So? ..as just a way to f@#k with them in a whimsical good natured spirit of jest…I’ve issued an open invitation on all Fridays through duration of Lent to come and break bread with me at my home featuring my delicious & succulent flash-seared-smoker-finished-bacon-wrapped-1 inch-butcher-cut-medium-“rareish”- bone-in-CHOICE-Pork-Chops.

Why not merely offend one religious affiliation?…

…when you can offend NUMEROUS religious affiliations by simply & graciously offering them basic nutritional sustenance & camaraderie via sharing a common meal among mutual good friends??
