That actually helps OU and LSU. I have no idea if SMU has a grass field and only negative is JW has astroturf. If we gave up a grass game that deducts some points. Otherwise its a great move for the SEC schools.
There must be a money incentive for SMU
And a SMU fan hates it

Complete money move by SMU and big middle finger to season ticket holders who lose out on two great home games.

SMU's home stadium only seats about 33,000

I’m sure this had to be a part of the agreement. LSU and Oklahoma don’t want to play in a highschool stadium

Yeah, that's why we don't play Tulane.

Bad move for home field obviously but they will prob make quite a few mills for it....will help in the long-run.

It's exactly what GT did for the UGA game that was supposed to be their home game this year. Somehow, they make more money giving it to Mercedes Benz than playing it in their own stadium.

I haven’t been there but it’s relatively new and supposed to be nice, probably designed to be expandable if the incentive to do so ever arrives. UH designed theirs that way as well.

I thought SMU was wealthy?
They are a small school with a somewhat affluent student body. They aren't going to STAY wealthy if they pass up chances to get paid millions more. The ACC isn't paying them a full distro for several years. They need to pick up extra $ when they can.

My guess is they split the gate profits somehow like 40/30/30 (40 to JW) and with 65k fans the money works better than a home game holding 30k? I am 100% guessing on percentages but there must be a bigger payoff. And who knows maybe OU and LSU kicked in some dollars?
