How can you possibly believe Tennessee is going in a positive direction immediately after losing your head coach, pitching coach and best pitchers?

Man, you are having a week and it’s only Tuesday.

Thats actually a good question

10 years ago Tennessee would have been number 15 on this list and now have made up the most ground of any team. I think they are trending positive until proven otherwise. If they don't win a regional this year, then I will have them neutral next year. If they don't win a regional next year then I will move them to negative to following year

Given the investment into the program right now financially I still have them positive. Same as I would have had the Aggies going into last season despite Schloss leaving

I was really just going off the vibe of each program right now.

Except you have A&M as negative and Tennessee as positive when y’all literally just did the same exact thing.

Both lost their coach and replaced him with a career assistant.

Doesn’t add up.

As I said, I would have had the Aggies as positive going into 2025. However, since they didn't even make the postseason, I have now moved them to negative.

Same exact treatment I am giving the Vols. I have them as positive going into 2026, and if they don't make the tournament like the Aggies didn't, then I will move them to negative in 2027.

It completely adds up. What are you not understanding?

Vibe of Tenner is objectively down. Didn’t make Omaha last season, has less talent, and lost the coach who built the program.

No, it's uncertain for this year, but overall positivity about the program. 5 straight super regionals, a top 5 recruiting class, and a top transfer portal class. The talent is there. If we have a bad year it will be because of poor coaching not because of lack of talent. If Vitello were the coach, we would be a unanimous top-10 team; however, since the Aggies fell flat on their face last year, people are cautious about getting on the first-year HC bandwagon. Nonetheless, Tennessee just finished a 100 million dollar upgrade to the stadium. There is still a lot of positivity about the program as a whole

I could be persuaded to go positive on Auburn but I dont think anyone thinks Auburn is gonna win a natty with Butch Thompson. Its more just that they are a good respectable but not great program.

This simply shows how program expectations are wildly different from a mid tier program like tenner vs top flight programs like LSU and Arkansas in baseball.

For a season to be acceptable it is always Omaha or bust. For tenner simply making a super is enough.

Wow that must be really annoying for the hogs that a mid tier school like Tennessee has won more SEC titles and natties than them. That must suck

In Skip Bertman, Paul Mainieiri, and Jay Johnsons first year at LSU, none even made the super regional. I think if Elander can get there on his first try, that'll be a good start

then why don't you have A&M as a neutral? Shouldn't they be neutral after last year and, if they don't win a regional again, at negative?

Because they went from a natty appearance to not making the tournament. That's a massive negative. If Tennessee doesn't make the postseason, then they will be negative in 2027, too. Why are people struggling with this easy concept so much lol

Tenner won a natty then couldn't make Omaha the next year. Massive negative.

Of Tennessee doesn’t win a regional (not just miss the tournament) this year, they will have gone

2024 CWS Champion
2025 Loses Super Regional
2026 Loses regional.

That’s trending in a negative direction.

You’re giving Tennessee a buffer season this year that you didn’t give A&M. If you can’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you

I can understand not wanting to say negative, but to claim positivity seems like an excessive reach. In no way are you better than you were last year and certainly not the year before. If anything, you can say neutral as no one knows yet, how this year will turn out for yall. But positive is blatantly disingenuous.

You think Ole Miss is trending negative considering we return almost our entire team from last year and grabbed an ace pitcher?
