According to the BR "insiders" this will be Jay Johnson's most talented team since he's been at LSU.

LSU too high
Return entire starting outfield and shortstop. Other guys who will be in the mix got a lot of playing time last year as well. Return two AA pitchers. Signed the #2 portal class and #1 recruiting class. Anything can happen obviously (see A&M last year) but on paper, no I don’t think LSU is unfairly being ranked high. LSU has a lot more returning experience than they did post 2023

I really hope we can give you a good series on the final weekend. We have some talent, but it remains to be seen if we can come together.

Crazy that our projected #1 starter is a 2nd team all american but not even 2nd team all SEC.

So last year Texas was very underrated going from 8 to 1, this year I tbinknwe end 2-4 but still a solid finish in the deepest league.

The UF/LSU series is always one that I look forward to. Love that it's the final weekend. Hopefully there will be a lot riding on that one.

How is your team looking this season Gator?

UK lost a ton last offseason and brought in a lot of young talent. We added some great pieces this offseason. I feel like 35 wins overall is a reasonable expectation for this years team. We took a big step back last year after making the CWS the year before with all the talent that we lost. Gonna be a fun season.

I think Georgia has a right to feel disrespected right now. Which is good. Play with a chip on your shoulder. (But maybe button up those jerseys).

If our pitchers continue pitching the way they have, we will have a really good 1-2 punch on Fri-Sat with Peterson and King. Sun is TBD. I like our outfield, it seems to be stacked with good, but not great players. There are plenty of options in the outfield.
Infield is a little different. We have an all time great at 2nd base in Kurland who is hurt, and a great one in Lawson who will play 3rd or SS. We have some guys needing to step up at SS and 1B. Also need to figure out the bullpen.
One freshman who will probably lock down a spot in the outfield is Jacob Kendall. He has been spraying the ball all over the place off our best pitchers. Hopefully that means he is going to be a phenom rather than our pitching sucks.
