Got arrested in Starkville after a show (well 2:00 AM after the show) for picking flowers from someone's flower bed. Likely died wanting his $36 back from the popo. (Watched it just yesterday on You Tube)

So was Bear Bryant, Barry Switzer, Jerry Jones, Douglas MacArthur, Levon Helm, Glen Campbell, Conway Twitty and one of my favorite all-time MLB stars, Brooks Robinson.

The house on 182 (MLK now and 82 at the time) was a landmark when I lived there, but it was the infamous kind where city officials hoped it would just go away.

Poor Johnny carried that shame with him until his dying day.

2nd cousin here. His family came to the Mt. Elba area (Saline River) in the same area of Cleveland County that I grew up in. His dad later moved to Kingsland, where Johnny was born.
My paternal grandmother was a Cash from his tree.
Met him and shook hands with him in '76.

Sang about it in the live version of I've Been Everywhere, duet with Lynn Anderson.
