Phil Rauscher is now expected to be the new OL coach, while Searels remains with the staff doing something else.

Yes. This other guy is apparently the brains behind the improvement. I can dig it.

Didn’t even know that guy was in the staff. He has a bunch of NFL OL coaching experience. Now granted…those teams may have sucked but still.

I can’t wait until 2026. I have a new coach I can want to fire after the 3rd game!

Why wait? Fire him now.

i looked up bio on Searels. He will be 61 before next season starts.
He may welcome a reduction in his duties.

Great move by Kirby figuring out a way to keep Rauscher around. You have to wonder if this was the plan the whole time. Spend a year with Searles and then take over. How else can you hire the offensive line coach and run game coordinator from an NFL team and expect him to stay around.
Dylan Fairchild just made the All-Rookie team, Ratledge was a monster for the Lions and Jared Wilson started some games for the Patriots, but our offensive line was way more competent this season even though we were way younger than any Georgia offensive line I can remember off-hand.
Kirby promised everybody last season that he was going to fix the offensive line, and he did. That's why Kirby is the man.
Now I hope Kirby does the pass rush next. He doesn't have to tell us he's doing it this time or make any vows. Just do it!

Searles had a major health scare this year with a pneumonia battle. That, plus being 60, is a large reason he’s stepping back.
