I have a question for the baseball fans on the board. Do LSU and other programs have dedicated baseball program endowments?. UNC baseball has started an endowment and just received a generous $9 million gift towards such. Just wondering, figured this was an appropriate place to post this question.

I don’t know what you mean but I’m sure money is set aside for LSU baseball.

Jay Johnson is extremely popular in BR. If he wants it, LSU will get it.

Endowment is the right word. Donors give money specifically to fund the program's current and future needs.

Yes donors give a boatload to anything that has to do with lsu baseball. Anything Jay or the team want or need they absolutely get it and the school doesn’t pay for anything. It’s all donor based funding.

I thought an endowment was different from a savings account that can be added to and pulled from when needed. The more you know, I guess.

Yes, LSU has the LSU Baseball Foundation that is dedicated strictly to funding the baseball program.

LSU Baseball is heavily funded by the Marrucci Sports company as well as other major donors who provide funding strictly for baseball.

shite. Mississippi State's is probably bigger than its football team's.

Joking. Sort of.

LSU doesn't need an endowment or money.

LSU IS THE POWERHOUSE OF COLLEGE BASEBALL.

LSU just allocates whatever funds needed from the students via tuition/fees and taxpayers. The only real booster that dump has is the university general fund
