The greatest conquerors in history took advantage of some great exploit to whatever Meta method was being used at the time. What did Indiana do?

Hired a damn good coach who brought damn good assistants, especially coordinators, with him from JMU. He also brought about 30 players from JMU with him. Besides that, they’ve killed it in the portal. Also, it probably helped that they got a billionaire alum, who’s a sports fanatic, to buy in and help out.

Yep but not the big names. They had to fit Cignetti's system. Saban used a similar process of getting the right fit but he did it with high school players.

This never hurts.

A lot of schools can get a lot of money but they don't seem to know what tf to do with it to get the most out of it like Cignetti evidently does.

5th and 6th year seniors.

The average age of their starters is more than 23 years old.

Another way to look at it - The top players from their classes went to the NFL 3 years ago.

Built a roster full of high character guys that just play football.

Not relying athletic freaks that are hyped by recruiting services.

The NFL just has to hate this. When are they gonna go to Congress and demand sanity.

CFP was always supposed to be a farm system for the NFL. Now that CFP is building a rich competitor, gotta figure the NFL tries to stop it.

Copied what this guy did, only better.

Both had great coaching staffs. Recruited players that fit the program. Built up those 2 and 3 star players. Played only cupcakes in the non conference.

Old School.

He looks like he doesn’t put up with any BS. You are part of the team or GTFO.

He found guys that bought into that - players and assistants.

He showed a good football team will beat 11 good guys playing football.
