No, I don't think I would. These cute little rev share agreements are a fun little break from what I do. Carry on.

quote:

Good for them. Demond will still be QB at LSU next season

quote:

Again, you can have provisions in an agreement that say anything, that doesn't 1. make it enforceable; 2. mean the counterparty cannot breach. The question is what remedy is appropriate and available? Damages is the answer. And I would take my chances with the BIG10 lawyers.

DEMOND RETURNING

LSU, stop trying to be associated with all the ills of modern football. Nobody likes your crime ridden squad and location already, so enough is enough.

LSU and Williams were cast as the bad guy, but the headline should be the insanity that is the Big 10 rev share contract.

No. The headline is the conference adopting template style legal protections that protect their interests and secondarily football itself.

You know greed is a sin, right?

So is coveting what is not yours.

Have you read the parts of the contract that have come out online?

LSU aside, Are we sure this is the end of the Williams situation? It does seem like a quick resignation by his side but does Washington or the fans really want him to be the quarterback next season? I have a hard time believing he will be there next season.

Auburn fans preaching to us about ethics after hiring Hugh fricking Freeze, and failing miserably in the process.

The premise of your thread is entirely false.
He was talked back into Washington by the Washington head coach.
The fact remains that the clauses of the rev sharing agreements in Washington violate state, law, court rulings and athe house settlement.
Those agreements that bar transfer or have clauses barring the athletes from earning NIL or playing for another team are illegal and will not be enforcable

Dunno, seems like that’s better than hiring Hugh & being associated with the ills of bygone football.

One of these is eventually going to make it to court, the contract won’t hold up, and we’ll be back to total chaos.

I think we didn’t want to take the risk. LSU played it safe here, but the court scenario will eventually play out with a non-QB transfer & these Rev share contracts will be proven to have no teeth. Just a matter of time.

For the record, I don’t like it — but these cases always go the players’ way.

I can appreciate this take. The contract isn’t evil, even if it is unenforceable, we don’t know. Washington is simply trying to exercise some right to have their contracts mean SOMETHING in modern football and honestly, I think we need to root for that to gain some stability.
