TRANSFER PORTAL

For all of the individuals that are hating the transfer portal and the new age of college football I have agreed with you for a few years now. What we all need to understand and agree on is it is not the same college football that we knew and enjoyed years ago. This is where we are and we need to accept it. It’s not going to change overnight. We may get some rules and sanctions, but it’s going to be like Major league baseball. The teams with the most money or the donors with the most money are going to have the best players come in. All we can do is embrace it at this point. Once you embrace it and accept it, things will get better. Trust me for the last couple of years I was just constantly mad about it myself. The fact is these kids even though they’re young are over 18 and multiple judges and our judicial system have deemed them employees that are entitled to compensation for what they do. Let them get their money and let’s see what happens on the field the next football season. The fun thing is when your coach or coaches find a few diamonds in the rough and put them out on the field and they show out. It’s like we’re all in search of the next Cinderella team or Cinderella player.

the NCAA caused all this
once they opened the floodgates of tv and the revenue pie kept growing the NCAA continued to double down on what type of benefits athletes could accept which was next to nothing
instead of trying to enforce ticky tack rules, had they developed a way to compensate these athletes a long time ago maybe things would be a lot different
guardrails could have been put in place decades ago and all these lawsuits would have never come to light and players would and should have been compensated decades ago but the NCAA sat on their heels counting $ from basketball tourney revenue and fell asleep
