Parity and NIL

I for one am a fan of it.
There are still only a few teams good enough to win a national title this year (State, Miami, UGA, Ole Miss, Indiana, Notre Dame), but there are maybe 20 teams that are really close.
Yall can hate the new college football game, if you want, but I like it.
I do think we need to break an upper division off of the NCAA, but I don't know how you do that. SEC and Big 10, sure, but what do you do with the ACC? Are the Colorado and Utah type regions just totally locked out?

I have no problem with NIL.
The portal needs to be fixed though.

I'm coming around. The play will come around (slowly) and eventually be there.
I would love to see tiered leagues
Along with relegation but that's just a pipe dream.

Both portal and NIL need to be fixed. Portal esp though they are working on it. NIL will be a tougher beast to get fixed though.

I agree the portal needs fixing, and I do think we need collective bargaining.

NIL, portal, it’s all good in theory. But it’s the Wild West out there right now. There has to be structure, a sense of order in it all.
But, damn, if having a championship final four with only one team that has won it all, and that was 25 years ago, isn’t pretty cool.

Uncapped pay-for-play has given programs that would’ve never sniffed the postseason without uncapped pay-for-play a fighting chance.
They’ll still fail to score a TD in the playoff though.
Aggy and Red Raider immediately come to mind.

The portal should and will remain. That’s what creates parity as players move around for playing time. The old days had coaches flat out lieing to players knowing they were held hostage for 4 years so teams like Bama and UGA could bagman 4 and 5 stars and keep them away from other teams. My teams old coach Bobby Dodd did the same thing in the 50’s when we were a top 10 program. Now, the depth at the power schools is gone and it’s created a great sport where every fanbase has hope. Give it another decade and there will be very few power schools but the sport will be much healthier as everyone can win or lose every week.

Whatever. There was a reason they would have been favored over any team but UGA and OSU. They were screwed. Tech should not have even been in the playoffs.
