Their words, not mine. But I agree:
The level of physicality and competitive spirit shown by IU, UGA, MIA and OM vs what we put on the field was shocking to me. In the Sugar Bowl, those teams were playing their azzes off. I didn’t truly expect to beat Indiana nor did I think we’d out physical IU. But, I thought we’d show up and compete and fight for our season. We had zero fire or intensity in a win or go home game which is just not acceptable. In the freaking Rose Bowl, we got absolutely dominated for 4 quarters in all phases - IU literally stuffed us in a locker. Just an overall embarrassing performance; losing I can take but worst bowl loss in program history is a hard pill to swallow. If this was DeBoer’s first ugly game, not a huge problem - but, we now have a trend of not showing up multiple times over the course of 2 seasons.
After 2 seasons, you can sort of see how things are progressing - Case in point … Cignetti at IU. If this Alabama team played with the same physicality and execution of IU but still losing games, I think most would be ok with that. Seeing these other teams play makes me realize how far away we are from being able to win a championship. It’s not like adding a handful of portal players is gonna make us play with the toughness/intensity of Georgia, or the high level execution of IU, or the physicality of Miami. All those things come from the top down, and unfortunately, it’s becoming increasingly obvious DeBoer is not gonna instill the intensity, toughness, or high level execution the program requires to win championships at the SEC/Big10 level of competition. I hope he proves me wrong; I think we’re all pulling for him because if he’s successful that means Alabama is successful. But, at 50, DeBoer likely is who he is so I’m not expecting much to change with him, his personality, or how he operates. We’ll continue to be a pass first team that cannot run the ball effectively or consistently. Teams take on the personality of their head coach and we’re a nice, finesse team that will win games, look good in some games, but get our teeth kicked in when playing the bullies. Maybe I’m wrong or simply being super negative, but given all we’ve seen it just doesn’t feel like this will be a long-term fit.

Back to back 4 loss seasons; the Dynasty is officially over.

This coaching staff is an abject failure at every aspect of their jobs...coaching on the practice field, play calling, in game adjustments, preparation, strength and conditioning development...you name it. There is no aspect that they are competent at.

This is why you hire Midwest coaches like Cig.

Deboer has zero reasons to worry. His contract is guaranteed for another 70+ million $$$ until sometime in the next decade. As long as he shows up and talks about the thin line between his team and the rest he will do very well for himself. The players will get paid. We have become Texas.

We haven't won a championship in over 5 seasons. It's fine to talk about the dynasty nostalgically, but it's been officially over for a while.

It was over before Saban retired. It has just been accelerated.

It was over in 2022 starting with the undisciplined finesse football we were seeing from Alabama at that moment in time. Our OL has been substandard to poor since then.

The decline started when we played UGA in the NCG and Nick shook Kirbys hand after the game and told him, we couldnt stop you guys running the ball.
That was the start of the end
