The only fanbase I’ve ever seen this overconfident was Notre Dame prior to the 2012 NC in Miami so maybe it’s an Indiana thing?
I’m not even saying they aren’t a very good team, but I’d have them as a two TD dog to most any of the prime Saban/Kirby/LSU/Urban Meyer UF teams, not that 2025 Bama is in that tier.
What’s funny is you’ll usually see Bama fans nitpicking and concerned about their own teams prior to playing elite level teams despite all the championships because they’ve been around enough to lose to other great teams.
I’m sure IU just doesn’t have enough frame of reference or overall understanding of the sport of football in general to understand how competitive and easy to lose these CFP games are even when you have a great team because everyone is some blend of great/elite when you get to this point in the season.
