Why are so many ranters giddy about him taking every high profile job that becomes available? It is bizarre to watch the two completely opposite narratives jockey for position on the front page.

Because an immediate roster pillaging and coaching turnover is even better than a slow decay.

Edit to add I’m not a Deboer doubter. I think he’s fine. I’m just saying this would be my idea as to why.

Not sure who you guys could get that would salvage the massive roster turnover that would ensue. Theres nobody.

We're dealing with Rantards. For the most part, nothing they say makes sense. They talk out of both sides of their mouths constantly, and really never have a point other than to troll.

Anyway, no matter how badly some of them would like to see it, Deboer isn't going anywhere.

The same reason so many swore no decent coach would ever touch the LSU job

Trolling

You mean just like the Gumps and Ole Miss fans have done with Kiffin?

This board is a tabloid version of what a legitimate, informational board would be like. Younger generations are into “gotcha” posting now on message boards and social media sites.

I could make the same post about Lane Kiffin.

Remember, this is the same message board that loves to spout, "Alabama is nothing but toothless rednecks married to their cousins in broken down trailer parks"

...while at the same time crying, "Alabama has too much money, power and influence! The SEC is rigged and bends to their will all the time! It's not fair!"

This is another thing. Im begging Bama to make a run at Kiffin so he can turn that lateral down. The reality checks are coming.

People recognize that there’s nothing wrong with your coach.

People recognize that there’s something wrong with you, and that group includes your coach.

But the Rant says Deboer took over the most talented roster in football. How would that have been possible if the roster was pillaged?

It’s Sunday and perusing the rant and lo and behold I’ve found a ranter who knows all.

Nitro, can you with all your wisdom tell me who will win the Natty so I can sell all my assets and bet on the game.

Filling the shoes of the mighty GOAT is impossible to do. Best you can do is higher someone that has a high ceiling.

People are quick to berate their coach because they don't have a instant championship caliber team in place.

It has taken HCBV a few years to get us where we are now and it's his mission to get OU better each year.

Thank about what great HC would be available and what it would take to get him, it would be an insane amount of money to get him.

Mark Richt would have made a four team play off format at least twice. He would have made a 12 team play off at least 7 times and more likely 8 times. In 15 years at Georgia he would have had them in the playoffs half the time. Georgia was the best/most talented team in the country one or two of those years. It is very possible, maybe even likely, that Richt would have won a national championship under the current format.

Georgia was extremely fortunate to fire a top 10 coach and end up with a top 2 coach, one who at the time had only been a coordinator and was far from a sure thing.

If Deboer can replicate Richt’s success after following Saban I will be ecstatic.
