Played the rest of the year minus the Coastal game. He couldn't have made it worse by playing, but was in SIGNIFICANT pain the rest of the year. No surgery needed, just rest and recuperation.

Stud.

It’s a shame he risked it all for another shitty SC team.

He couldn't have made it worse by playing. He wasn't risking anything by playing, but he could have easily said he wasn't playing and quit on the crapy team. He didn't.

I don't have a medical degree, but I fail to see how a broken back can't be made worse by playing football.

So he played hurt? Never heard of any football player doing that before definitely not on every team every season ??

You are reminding me of this game, where whomever this guy is, had 4 tackles? He did have the only sack for USC, so I guess

Big CFB guy, huh?

Don’t know one of the best players in the league and a preseason all-American?

I’m glad he’s OK. I hope he gets the rest he needs.

May have fractured the tip of a spinous process, the piece of bone that sticks out straight backward from the spine. Depending on the location, that wouldn't necessarily destabilize the vertebral column or increase risk to the cord or nerves. Personally, I'd sit out and let it heal, but I'm sure he had good medical advice.

Since when does playing with an injury have zero risk of worsening said injury?

Relax. I was throwing a little shade at the kid. His antics after the sack cost us 15 yards, gave Ole Miss a 1st down and lead to a score.

But it was funny enough that we gif'ed it...
