Lane would have left Juice, Landry, and Knox all in Oxford if it meant getting the Alabama gig when Saban retired, and yet Alabama(with Saban very involved) didn’t even consider Lane.

And now Saban(still employed by Alabama) wants a conference foe to hire Kiffin. Very interesting. Saban also wanted you guys to hire Houston Nutt maybe he hates you

Lane has done fantastic job everywhere he's been a head coach.

So fantastic that he got tarmacked by USC and he didn't meet the character standards of Al Freaking Davis (much less the wins and losses).

I mean, come on...

All you have is 20 years ago when the guy was 30 years old.

How many cheese pastries did Elko eat in his 40's?

That's the real question.

Shall we discuss your mistakes at age 34?

Yes between those two there’s so many national and conference championships.

Pretty evenly distributed too

It would be the most BAS thing ever for him to get us to the CFP championship game and then go myocardial.

We really need to get him a salad bar membership. No dressing.

Lane Kiffin is infinitely more successful at age 50 than Saban was at age 50.

A shrimp boat captain with a similar background fielded a legendary national championship team at LSU.

Absolutely valid point.

I wouldn't have people burning their credibility by claiming otherwise so emphatically, though.

No sir. Saban had won a conference championship already and had not been fired twice as a head coach or once as a coordinator.

If Kiffin goes 8-4, 10-3, 8-5 in his first three seasons like Nick Saban did at LSU, the Lane Kiffin experiment will be over at LSU.

And if Lane Kiffin goes 8-5 in season three at LSU this place will cease to function.

Far out. He recommended DeBoer to Alabama. He was the one that fired Kiffin, though, and he knew Alabama wouldn’t hire him again
