“Committee” CFP? 5 or only 4 SEC teams

12 teams
The room will not tilt to SEC.
I think: Alabama, Georgia are IN, SEC will not blow up their championship game.Ole Miss and A&M are IN at 11-1. Oklahoma may get screwed. Texas and Vandy have no clear path.
Other spots: Texas Tech, Notre Dame, ACC will get either Virginia or Miami, G5 gets one, Indiana and Ohio State IN, B1G will not accept less than 3 so Oregon is probably IN.
Problem is IF BYU wins or Alabama loses by a 2 score margin.
Why does Notre Dame always get the nod?
They should have to play the highest ranked third place team is P4 this Saturday in the future.

Whoever sits at #10 tonight is the sacrificial lamb for a BYU conference championship win.

BYU isnt winning, Texas Tech just beat them by 3 tds a couple weeks ago. And Texas Tech has a lot to play for, if they lose they go from a first round bye to likely a road game in round 1.

ND president is on the committee, that’s why they get the nod.
It certainly isn’t based on who they beat. Funny how some on here shite on Texas for winning on the road in ot against msu and Kentucky yet give note dame a pass for losing at home to atm and road at Miami. They play absolutely no one after those games and have 1 ranked win against usc.

Upsets happen sometimes.

So G5 and Notre Dame coupled with an upset of Texas Tech and the committee selecting Miami, could lead to only 4 SEC teams?

Easily, what’s worse if what if the ACC hadn’t shot the bed this year and they get 2-3 teams that go 10-2?
The sec has backed themselves into a corner by allowing an unbalanced committee from every conference and ND dictate these playoffs plus no oversight on SOS or H2H, two components that are outlined in their “principles” for choosing teams. Which is a load of shite because it’s clear as day they just stack rank based on W-L

I don’t care either way, if ND gets left out or is selected. They did win 10 in a row, albeit against inferior competition, but they did it in some convincing fashion. And they lost to A&M by one and Miami by 3. The Hurricanes have a decent shot of getting in as at large

Let me explain why.
Miss State-5-7
Kentucky-5-7
Texas A&M-11-1
Miami-10-2
Texas lost 3 games by a combined score of 40 points
ND lost 2 games by a combined 4 points
Texas barely beat their two weakest opponents while ND trucked their weaker opponents.
Texas makes up a bit by beating Texas A&M, Vandy and Oklahoma
ND's best wins were USC and Navy.

This looks correct.
The one caveat I would make is if Alabama loses they will likely be out.

The "committee" is a farce. They use an analytical approach.
There is a guy on X who has nearly dialed in on their formula. They would never admit it, because where is the fun in that? ESPN wants the drama and the ratings from the show.

Yet note dame still found a way to lose.
They haven’t beaten anyone of note. That’s my point. The only top 15 teams they played they lost period. They had their shot to impress the committee and they lost.

Beating A&M, Oklahoma and Vandy makes up BEATING 2 SEC teams on the road "a little bit"? If this was the NCAA basketball tourney, where at-large teams are chosen with 13-14 losses, strength of schedule is almost everything. Just because it hasn't happened in college football doesn't mean it shouldn't. The NCAA needs to be consistent.

They absolutely should focus on SOS, it says they do as well as H2H in their principles.
Hilarious Mich beats a terrible Maryland team 2 weeks ago moves up 5 spots, Texas beats undefeated ATM moves up 2 spots lol.
We live in a world where we are giving participation trophies to G5 teams when the CFPlayoff says they want "the best 12 teams to decide a champion"
Really, you want Oregon playing North Texas, Tulane, James Madison, Viginia, or do you want Oregon v Texas for a 1st round matchup?

UGA, Bama, A&M, Oklahoma and Ole Miss are all in.

You could be right. It wouldn't surprise me, though, if they didn't put Miami in.....that would be a travesty, though, imo. Your scenario does make more sense, though.

UGA/OU/Rebs/A&M are in no matter what.
I personally think Bama needs to win to be a lock but I'm expecting them to be in regardless.
