1) kiffins buyout doesn’t have any offset or mitigation. So LSU is totally on the hook if they fire him
2) buyout if he wants to leave is $7 mil and drops by $1 mil every year. Barely more than the buyout at Ole Miss
3) LSU is paying his bonus for Ole Miss making the playoffs/ advancing. This isn’t uncommon in the finance industry but still wild to see for a coach. Means Kiffin could have cost himself $$$ by poaching ole Miss coaches before the playoff

80% of remaining value. So $62.4 mil next year then dropping $10.4 mil every year after that.

Very common now, 70% - 80% no mitigation is what you are going to see on any contract Sexton is involved in.

When are you idiots gonna learn Landry did LSU a favor. On the flip side, Shark/Reb fans are saying Kiffin will leave. If so LSU is off the hook. Looks like a win/win for LSU.

I am way less surprised that he left based on those details. $72 mil guaranteed (even if ole miss matched the salary I doubt we matched the buyout and offset) from day 1. That is double the $36 mil buyout on his last ole miss deal.
