That was.
I'm very happy that we've played some games out this way and can't wait until Labor Day to see a bunch of Tiger fans in Seattle. I would love to see us have a regular home & home with a West Coast team as it would help us build to become more of a national university.

I'd like to play someone like Oregon year in and year out. Just because.

I met one of their big boosters (friend of Knights) and he said that many of them want to play LSU to experience Tiger Stadium and for us to see how they are rowdy. I will say that they are a fun, obnoxious bunch and I have enjoyed the games I've gone to with them. Their rivals (Oregon State) came back with glowing reviews of the LSU experience and wet their appetites even more. Now with us going to Washington this year, we'll get more interest. Hell, the Arizona fans I know want us to go back to Tuscon. We were great for their economy and the bars had record liquor sales.

I wonder if the dome will be more green or red and blue?

Doesn't LSU receive half of the gate revenue when they play in the Dome?

UAB, Memphis, SLU, and TBD in '09.
Fresno St., Tulane, Jax St, TBD in '10.
Sou. Illinois, Fresno St, Tulane, and TBD in '11.
We were going to play GA Tech but that got moved to later in the decade.

OM fans will dominate The Dome... unless Tulane fans start showing up to games all of a sudden

neworleans.com: Tulane announces four-game football series with Ole Miss (2/12/09)
9/11/10: Ole Miss at Tulane
9/22/12: Tulane at Ole Miss
?/??/16: Ole Miss at Tulane
?/??/17: Tulane at Ole Miss
- One of oldest rivalries for both schools, the Green Wave and Rebels will play each other for the first time in nine years for the 70th edition in 2010.
- Tulane and Ole Miss first met in 1893, which marked the first year of hosting a varsity football program for both schools. The Rebels won the inaugural meeting, 12-4, and hold a 41-28 advantage in the all-time series.
- The last meeting between the two teams took place at Oxford during the 2000 season opener for the Green Wave.
- "Ole Miss is an outstanding team from the Southeastern Conference that we have added to our future schedules," Tulane head coach Bob Toledo said. "They are one of our oldest rivals and we look forward to playing them in the coming years. I believe Houston Nutt has done a fantastic job since taking over the program."
- Tulane and Ole Miss were common opponents for much of the 20th century and were a part of three different conferences, including the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (Tulane- 1896-1921/Ole Miss- 1899-1921), which was one of the first collegiate athletic conferences formed in the United States, the Southern Conference (1922-32) and finally both schools were founding members of the Southeastern Conference in 1933.
- The series between the two schools in New Orleans is tied, 25-25, and the Rebels will make their first appearance in the Crescent City since 1997.
- The Rebels lead the series in Oxford, 12-2, and also hold a 4-1 advantage in games played in Jackson, Miss.

We play home and homes with Texas and Clemson 2012-2016 plus GA Tech after... we are still are trying to fill our TBD list for '09 and '10 with TCU (top 25 team) being a strong possibility.
I don't see why you would want to play a tougher OOC schedule than that...

Yeah but I don't see the point of playing a killer OOC schedule when we have to play 8 SEC games. I don't think TCU, UAB, Memphis, and SLU is ridiculously easy. 2 of those teams were bowl teams last year and 1 is on the road.
Speaking of OOC... Arkansas schedule is Missouri State, TAMU (in Arlington), Eastern Michigan, and Troy... that could be weaker than our scheudle next year.
What's up with playing @ LA Monroe in '10? How did that happen?

USM is notably absent. Still can't understand the reasoning for that.
'We have nothing to gain'. REALLY? Then why do you play Memphis every year.
'We have to recruit against them'. So does Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Tennessee, but all of those schools will/have played USM.
Real reason is probably the fact that USM beat Ole Miss 4 out of the last 5 times they played.
