Losing their head coach and offensive coordinator may be enough for committee to drop them to #9 and thus not hosting a CFP game.

Would be hilarious given their ADs behavior. Not defending Kiffin, but the AD made things much worse.

Or they may jump in the rankings to top 4 and bye now they don’t have the off field distractions and clusterfrick that kiffin brings

Dropping Ole Miss in the rankings because of this coaching situation is bs.

Judge the team based on what they accomplished during the season. Trying to look into a crystal ball and determine how they would perform (ala the FSU shaft job the CFP committed a few years ago) is ridiculous.

I honestly hope they treat the Rebels fairly.

What would you have Keith do? We saw the damage Kiffin could do in a few hours today. Why should we give him 30 days?

Why? They looked fine against state when it was all but officially announced he was gone

Stankey agreed to that rule. There is zero doubt losing the HC, OC, and WR Coach has significantly reduced the probability they win it all and that is what seeding is based on.

Dropping to 9 would probably send them to ND. I think they end up 7

Ole Miss should definitely host a first round game. They deserve it

It’s gonna be FSU all over again. Unfortunately.

Nah- you've made us into media darlings now. Sure, they'll debate it ad nauseum but we'll be in the Top 8.

Why- because f*** LSU, that's why.

They dropped FSU out of the playoffs because of a qb situation

Oh- there is significant doubt on that. The reduced probability only happens if you are willing to be the victim.

No- there's no motivation quite like being royally pissed off. Playing for a championship is one thing. Playing on the righteous indignation of being spurned...that can bring you to the level where death is preferable to losing.

Talents being relatively equal- give me a team that would rather die than lose.

I agree, bute precedent is to drop them if they are expected to be significantly worse with their losses. (See FSU in 2023).

Agreed. I just think the precedent has been set that what you accomplish holds less weight than anything.

If Texas Tech and UGA win next, no chance Ole Miss gets a bye.

If either loses, it is possible.

In the end, it just shows how shitty the system is.

I guess it’s possible the committee could do that. But it would be unprecedented and dead wrong if they do.

The FSU thing is completely different than the situation here. They had two games to evaluate that FSU was utterly inept without Travis at QB. They had actual on field evidence of that. What evidence does the committee have that Ole Miss will stink with Kiffin gone. People need to quit using the FSu situation as an example. It is completely different.

Dude like half your staff is gone. I’d call that a distraction.

Noone gives a flying f what you think. Noone actually cares about whether what you're saying is true or not. You are part of the evil empire. It's actually a pointless conversation in that it's not worth debating.
