In order of KenPom rating of opponent…
1. Michigan over #5 Gonzaga
2. Tennessee over #6 Houston
3. Gonzaga over #12 Alabama
4. Kansas over #14 Tennessee
5. Auburn over #17 St. John’s
6. Iowa State over #17 St. Johns’s
7. Michigan over #24 Auburn
8. St. John’s over #26 Baylor
9. Michigan over #48 San Diego State
10. Baylor over #48 San Diego State
11. Iowa State over #53 Creighton
12. Baylor over #53 Creighton
13. Iowa State over #70 Syracuse
14. Kansas over #70 Syracuse
15. Houston over #70 Syracuse
16. Kansas over #73 Notre Dame
17. Houston over #73 Notre Dame
18. San Diego State over #86 Oregon
19. Auburn over #86 Oregon
20. Creighton over #86 Oregon
21. Gonzaga over #94 Maryland
22. Alabama over #94 Maryland
23. Tennessee over #123 Rutgers
24. Notre Dame over #123 Rutgers
25. Alabama over #134 UNLV
26. Rutgers over #134 UNLV
27. Maryland over #134 UNLV
I feel like the three SEC teams along with Michigan, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Houston, St. John’s, Kansas, and Baylor will make the Tournament this year.
San Diego State and Creighton should be on the bubble or just outside.
I don’t think Syracuse, Notre Dame, Oregon, Maryland, Rutgers, or UNLV are good enough to make the tournament this season.

Pretty good showing by SEC. Michigan looked like a fricking meat grinder.

Yeah overall the SEC had a very good showing.
I would have liked to see Bama get to play some better opponents. They steamrolled two not so great teams. Would have really enjoyed watching them play Iowa State or someone like that.
I wish the format would have been just the Top 8 or so teams in a bracket format. Bama-UNLV and Tennessee-Rutgers was a waste of everyone’s time. Two very good teams against some not so great opponents.

Shoot, at this point, I just want to see an Alabama roster 100% healthy playing any opponent

Bama played (at the time) in a row
#5 St John’s in NYC W
#2 Purdue at home L
#8 Illinois in Chicago W
#12 Gonzaga in Vegas L
I’m not sure what else you want at this point
Play #2 Arizona in Bham on 12/13
That’s plenty of OOC juggernauts for me

Alabama currently has the number two strength of schedule. Talks are underway to schedule the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons for next season.

Syracuse
Their adventures at the free throw line was almost worth the price of admission this week.

When Auburn had the best showing against them and still lost by 30......yeah, they were just on another level entirely.

I’m talking about in Vegas. Playing #94 and #123 is not exactly much of a test… of course opponents were out of everyone’s control. But if the organizers are going to bill this as an elite Thanksgiving Tournament, Rutgers and UNLV (among others) have no business being there. They were a waste of space.
I wish they would have taken the 8 best teams and done a bracket format. There would not have been a single meaningless game.

That's not Bama's best version out there.....there was a silver lining because the young guys got a lot of PT and some of them really played well but I'd like to see us play Gonzaga with Wrightsell and a healthy Bristow and Bethea.
We have a young big man Collins Onyejaka out with a medical issue too.

It is going to be even more watered down next season when they expand it to 32 teams.
The problems come with the win margin bullshite that is heavily influenced by matchups. I don't care for that part of it.

Impressive. Bama and Auburn are both leading the league when it comes to OOC scheduling.
Both will play Purdue, Arizona, and St John’s.
Bama also plays Gonzaga, Illinois, and Clemson.
Auburn also plays Michigan, Houston, and NC State.
That’s six opponents for each of us in the KenPom Top 35.

No, dude. We are BAD this year. We’ll be lucky to get to 20 wins.
