Not exactly excited about the IB but it what it is. A Auburn upset would be just fitting.
Wife working all week this week so no Thanksgiving dinner for us. We had a friendsgiving last Friday with about 20 friends over and it was great. Thinking about heading to the meat market today and grabbing some steaks for tomorrow. Only have a few hours after she wakes up before she leaves for work. Steaks are easy
Thinking about heading out on the boat fishing in the morning till 2pm or so. Sounds like a great way to spend the day with my boy while the wife sleeps. Try to catch a few snook and reds. I have been working pretty hard lately for a old man. Need a break.
Hope you all have safe travels and enjoy your time with your families.

Does your lure business have a Christmas bump or does it sort of follow a different pattern?
Do you still guide? I assume that is seasonal.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope we win against Alabama.

Slow right now. I get a little bump in internet orders but stores do not typically like to stock up the shelves right before the end of the year. Businesses like that and mine pay taxes on year end inventory. You want it to be as low as possible.

I have opened my charter business in the gulf now. Im starting to do a few fishing trips, boating trips but its been slow. I just moved my shop to home last week so I am about all set up. I will start advertising my guide business hard at the end of the year and through the spring.

I admit, it would not fix the sting of what happened this year but atleast it would be a fun time for the fans and players. My confidence is very low but crazy things happen in that game

Sipping a vodka in Japan with my son right now. Plan to fry a turkey out back tomorrow and share a meal with a few families here in the base housing.
Going to attempt to watch most of the IB before our flight back to toyko on Sunday. Should be able to catch 3 quarters before heading to the airport. Probably add a VPN on my phone so I can stream the 4th qtr on my phone if the game is close.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Enjoy Japan. Can be fun. I spent a little time over there in Sasebo

Hope you have a great time out there. We have been moving my MIL into assisted living & trying to prep her house to get ready to sale. Busy time.
Plan on watching the game & we will see...hopefully a good win this weekend..

Yep. My second trip here. I am not a guy that enjoys urban areas but I must say I enjoy tokyo. The Japanese culture fits my personality.

I enjoyed it. My youngest son went over there for a few weeks and like it as well. I like the cleanliness, interesting items for sale in the malls & fruit (how expensive some great looking berries can be for a perfect one) weird but kind of cool

Busy. Playing a gig tonight for Drinksgiving as they’ve decided to call it. Out of town for Thanksgiving. Gig Saturday night at 9:00. We are all going to get to the venue and set up early and then watch the Iron Bowl. We have three Auburn grads and two Bama fans in the band so about half the band either way is going to have a sad gig. The gig will be terrible if we win because the Bama fans will all stay home. And I don’t care! WDE!

Went up to Hacksaw Ridge this morning. Very moving and could feel the history. On a lighter note. I love sushi and beer for breakfast. Had the best sushi EVER at the tuna auction in Tokyo. I trade commodities for a living. The trading of tuna was beyond interesting.

Going to load up Friday and head to Auburn. Got my 2 oldest coming back to AU for the IB and a bunch of friends. We'll have 16 total, only one bama fan.
My youngest got accepted to AU and to uga, he's getting the hard sell by his siblings to complete the 4th gen AU alum set and go to AU. He's playing his cards close and hasn't leaned one way or the other. I'm trying not to pressure him into AU, let him find his own path, but I HATE uga with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns. That will be a tough 4 years for me.

"My youngest got accepted to AU and to uga"
I always told my boys I would pay for 4 and 2/3 years of any college except UGA. Neither choose AU. But thank God they never tested my hated of the mange. Good luck my friend.

working half a day today, Thanksgiving prep for the rest
sis and her kids + plus my niece and her family (whom i dearly love) coming over tomorrow, also invited a married couple we’ve known for decades (she’s an excellent cook and hostess, which are areas in which my bride is admittedly deficient)
our kids are both out of town with their SO’s which sucks but is understandable
Black Friday gig at a local Biergarten, which will be interesting because its outside and promises to be on the chilly side - but they have a top notch bar in addition to their excellent brews so the flow of libations will keep us warm
kind of a bittersweet time for the band, as our guitarist and founder announced back in August that he was leaving us at year’s end - gonna miss his manic energy
already rehearsing with his replacement, a lesbian keyboard player who seems like a blast to be around - great sense of humor to go along with her musical skills - gonna have to change almost all of our arrangements and probably drop a few songs but we’re all excited about taking things in a new direction
Saturday is all CFB, hoping for (but not expecting) positive results in the big 3 rivalries (IB, EB and GOFH)

Sometimes the change can be good. Freshens and livens things up.

our biggest problem was the way he let us know - via group text the morning after a productive rehearsal - was a complete surprise and totally unprofessional, which he readily admitted afterwards
fortunately we were able to get over that after he apologized (and we had a couple of awkward gigs) - last few times out have been as much fun as ever, and we have a “orderly transfer of power” show planned in early January where he’ll join us one last time for the first set, and we’ll officially welcome our new member in the second set

I’m excited about the IB but expectations are not high. We are going to a local watering hole here in Auburn early then us and several friends are headed back to our house for the game. Sunday is my 65th birthday so my wife is trying to make the gathering Saturday night a dual purpose game/birthday party.

I'm in the kitchen baking pies. My Thanksgiving tradition is to make sure that everyone has his/her favorite pie. I hope you have a great day and catch lots of fish! I remember fishing with my grandfather. Those were very happy times.

My wife (pics on Onlyfans) has a pecan pie and a chocolate pie cooling now.
Always help clean up the pan the chocolate was made in.

i make a chocolate pecan pie that is an epic poem
but unfortunately i’m pretty much the only one who ends up eating it, and i’ve reached the point where its a lot harder to keep weight off than it is to put it on
