Top 10 Greatest Iron Bowls of All-Time

1. 2013 - Even as an Alabama fan, it pains me to admit that this loss via the Kick Six is the greatest but it can't be denied. The stakes had never been higher for either team and Auburn delivered when it mattered most.
2. 1985 - One of the most exciting fourth quarters you will ever see. Van Tiffin's game winning field goal for the Tide as time expired is still engrained in the memories of many Alabama fans.
3. 2023 - Nick Saban's last Iron Bowl was perhaps his most memorable as Alabama converted a 4th & Goal from the 31-yard line to take the lead with 32 seconds left in the game.
4. 2019 - A back and forth see-saw contest that saw Auburn came out victorious by the score of 48-45. Most Alabama fans remember this game for the two pick sixes and Joseph Bulavas's "doink" when he attempted to tie the game.
5. 2010 - The Camback. Alabama led 24-7 at halftime but slowly saw its lead evaporate in the second half. Auburn would win this all-time classic between Top 10 teams by the score of 28-27.
6. 1972 - Punt Bama Punt! Alabama took a 16-0 lead into the fourth quarter. Auburn blocked two punts and returned them for TDs to win the game 17-16.
7. 1982 - Auburn broke a nine-game losing streak to the Tide in Bear Bryant's final season as Bo went over the top to give Auburn a 23-22 victory.
8. 1996 - Alabama took a 17-0 lead in the first quarter only to find themselves trailing 23-17 in the fourth quarter. Freddie Kitchens led a last-minute drive as Alabama took the lead with less than 30 seconds to play, winning the game 24-23.
9. 2009 - Down 21-20 late in the fourth, Alabama's Greg McElroy engineered a game-winning drive that saw Alabama score with a little over 90 seconds to play to win the game 26-21.
10. 1983 - Played in the tempest of a severe weather outbreak that saw a tornadic thunderstorm pass right over the stadium (with no stoppage of play), Auburn came out on top in this one by the score of 23-20.

Not to hijack your thread, but one of the worst Iron Bowls ever, or at least one of the worst to attend, was the 2000 Iron Bowl. I was there with my dad, and it was the first Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa in the modern era.
It was like 33 degrees and raining and Auburn won a 9-0 slug fest. Rudi Johnson must have had over half of Auburn’s offensive yards, and Alabama hardly gained any yards at all.
I’m pretty sure it was Dubose’s last game as Alabama’s head coach.

Kick Six can never be topped. That shite was crazy, even for those of us with no dog in the fight.

It was brutal to watch, a full stadium, everyone knew all that was left was to rush the field and then to see them have their hearts ripped out like that, it should have been R-rated.

No way he was joining me. We just sat there and took it all in for a good 20 minutes. It was an awesome day for me. My buddy had the business hookups with the the big wigs who do a couple of large companies that do a couple of tailgates a year. Open bars and catered BBQ right next to the gameday stage. Before that, we went to a party at a house a block away from the stadium. It was right out of "Animal House". Such a great day with an awesome ending.
Kick Six can never be topped. That shite was crazy, even for those of us with no dog in the fight.

Also frick this game. I was in the student section and ended up beneath a spillover from the upper deck, so I stood soaked in barely-not-freezing weather to watch one of the worst displays of football I've ever seen.
