How can LSU hire a new coach when they can't afford to pay their outgoing coach?

Sankey and SEC member institutions need to intervene and resolve this embarrassing situation

If LSU lacks the funding and/or institutional integrity it's currently displaying, perhaps they should no longer be affiliated with the SEC

This isn't just a black eye for LSU, it reflects poorly on the entire SEC

Personally, I've always been a fan of LSU and their storied athletics history but there's some shady business going on down in the Bayou

I've never been a fan of BK and he was never a good fit for LSU but he has a contract and I support him receiving every penny contractually owed to him

Pay this man his money

He was fired for cause. Cause they sucked. Don't think this is legit reason not to pay someone.

That's why the SEC needs to intervene

It's not that LSU can't afford it, that would be bad enough; they're refusing to honor the terms of the contract and that's much worse optics when they're trying to attract a top tier coach and only hurts LSU. Regardless of how it turns out now anyone who does accept the role will demand a higher compensation package, a bigger buyout, and an ironclad contract than they would have if LSU had simply honored the contract from the start.

So no, I don't agree that the SEC should intervene - they're doing it to themselves.

Given Joey Freshwater aka Kiffin’s reputation, he should avoid LSU and the for cause contracts

If I were him (or anyone else for that matter), the removal of that clause would be among my demands to accept the job.

All I know is some children’s hospitals are going to be struggling to keep the lights on after this hire.

They are literally paying him his $800,000 every two weeks as per the contract..... Both sides want a lump sum settlement so it's over so he doesnt have to look for another job. God some people dont know how anything works
