Will the Committee use the USC loss to Oregon to move Bama in front of ND this week? It's a big deal considering the Big 12 will get 2 in almost for sure if BYU won the conference game. NDs wins resume is pretty weak. I think if you took the name away Bama would have already been in front of them.

It was 42-0 at the end of the first quarter. They scored 28 in the remaining 3 quarters, which sounds about right. I don’t think they ran it up.

the fact this is even a factor shows how incompetent the committee is. if im on that committee idgaf if they won 40-7 or 70-7...in fact it just reinforces how easy their schedule is

Notre Dame should be ranked #4.

We won't. We should because of the resumes. But we don't care as long as we beat auburn. But we should be

Their starting QB threw 9 passes and was out after the first drive of the second half. They certainly didn’t try to run up the score; to the contrary they did everything they could not to run up the score. But otherwise really good post.

Just based on what the committee gave the most credit to when it was 4 teams it's hard to see how ND is in front of Bama.

I can just hear it now: "Notre Dame's 70-7 win over Syracuse was just too impressive for us to ignore."

Never mind the fact that Syracuse is 3-8 and currently the second worst team in the ACC.

It’s actually a close call. ND lost to a solid Miami team on the road (in their QB’s first game as a starter), then to a Top 5 team by one point. Alabama was pounded by a bad FSU team. However, Alabama won at Georgia (as good a win as anyone in the country has) and ND really has no great wins at all. Strong argument either way.

You’re correct; Notre Dame didn’t run the score up. ND started pulling their starters in the 3rd Qtr (look at the stats if you don’t believe me). There were a ton of 3rd team players in the 4th Qtr.

if bama played these team and beat them equally bad would you be fooled by how easy it is to beat inferior teams?

ND lost two close games to top 15 teams. Bama lost one close to a top 15 team, but also lost by two touchdowns to a terrible team. It’s not that hard to understand.

Also, ND is probably the one brand that Bama won’t automatically jump just because of their name.

In the past the committee almost always gave more weight to a nice wins resume than to one bad loss though. ND literally will only have one win against a lower top 25 team (maybe 2 if Pitt moves in there barely) after yesterday's games. They will have to give some eye test type argument to justify it.

ND is the committee’s love child. Snakey has a new favorite, and he won’t fight for Bama. It is that simple.
