6 years was 3 years longer than anyone thought he would stay. He is officially gone. By 2:00 everyone will know.

Lane Kiffin has won 71.0% of his games at Ole Miss, which is crazy.
...at LSU, that would put him 10th on the all-time winningest coaches list (one spot behind Brian Kelly).

6 years was as long as I could take it in Oxpatch. It's a great place, and I really enjoyed it but it's a still a small town and can get old. The same people at same bars etc.
I know it was time to leave when a dean wanted to sit down with me and ask me about “things” as I had been there longer than he had. I left a long term gf and full scholarship to law school. ( It wasn't a great decision but I got “stir crazy” and wanted to go “home” to Louisiana. ) It may not end up being a great decision with Lane either but I get it, he will never be more in demand than he is right now.
Timing is just terrible for Ole Miss right now.
