He’s out coached Deboer twice, and is a defensive savant. Auburn fans would love that

Should Auburn boosters pony up the cash to snag Venables and build a stronger program at Auburn? He seems like a great fit: knows the south and won big with Dabo and Clemson, so he’s “been there before.”

Would be a home run hire

We gave them ptsd. Probably because of the 27-0 win streak or maybe the 77-0 game. But it comes down to they simply don’t know how to act. I get embarrassed for them

but the saddest part of the article...

quote:

Auburn's coaching search last nine days before the program announced the hiring of Boise State's Bryan Harsin on Dec. 22. Auburn Undercover reported last year that Venables was in the mix, as was Oregon coach Mario Cristobal, then-Louisiana coach Billy Napier, then-Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and then-Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and UAB coach Bill Clark, in varying stages of the coaching search.

Auburn out here interviewing arse candidates and completely dumbfounded why they keep getting arse results on the field.

Venables already turned down the Auburn job before Hugh was hired.

Remember when Bill Clark turned Auburn down so they had to invent a face saving story about how it was them that turned Bill Clark down? Good times.

This.

OU for sure has more money. And yes, a more storied program to the extent that matters in today’s college football.

What a stupid post. Calling it what it is.

BV is coaching at his dream school. He is here until he retires.

That doesn’t even account for him taking a lower job lol.

Some of the posts on this board are worse than clickbait at places like MS news.

I’m sure he’s dying to have Jackson Arnold back on the roster. A step down to Auburn seems like a total no-brainer.
