Educate me.
In cases like Kiffin and Drinkwitz, when a program is being dangled over the bowels of hell by its head coach, does the AD begin to search for the next guy?

The smart, proactive ADs are putting out feelers.

If Mizzou has a person in the new role as a GM, that person will work with the AD and start the process pronto

I sure hope so. The timing of Drink’s departure isn’t optimal.

Could be wrong, but I believe before our current AD left Memphis, he hired Silverman. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t considered,

As with any AD, GM, or President position, if he doesn’t have a list of 5-10 people he wants to talk to in his desk at all times, they are not a good leader.

Veatch has a list and is almost surely putting out feelers.
It would be malpractice otherwise.
Who knows though. We’ve had incredibly incompetent leadership before.

He must've wanted to be in the action that happened to be going on here for a while.

Any AD worth a damn always has a short list in his pocket 365.

This.
It is prudent to always have a running list in case of unforeseen events.
