Retarded Ranking System

Only 2 things matter in cfb, no matter how many times they tell us it will be different this year:

1. Number of losses
2. Recency of the losses

For example, when you lose your 2nd game, you go to the bottom of the pile of all teams with 2 losses.

It's such a retarded way to rank teams. Strength of schedule means absolutely nothing. Strength of wins means absolutely nothing.

Scheduling any OOC games against P5 schools is just beyond stupid at this point.

Imagine Alabama and Texas right now without the losses to FSU and OSU... they'd both be playoff locks.

Spot on, and it is retarded.

The preseason ranking system is the foundation of it all, too. Really fricking dumb.

Hopefully CFP rankings are better than the AP. I got no dog in this one.

One can only hope.

OU and Bama have played schedules and quality wins light years past Notre Dame, but there we are…

I’ve ALWAYS thought a loss at home should count against a team a bit more. That’s just me.

The BCS computer models were actually pretty good. Just needed more spots.

Instead they decided to let random people without football knowledge form the playoff committee.

With a 12 team playoff the optimal strategy is to play as easy a schedule possible.

With a 2 or 4 tram playoff, an 11-1 record against trash you'd miss the cut

12 spots ensures every body with a "good" record makes it.

Bama didn't become the lowest rated 2-loss team. Not even close. Indeed, they are currently ahead of BYU and GT who each have one loss.

Because people are stupid. The BCS system would work even better now with 12 spots.

I remember before the season started we was told Florida and OU had a chance to make it as 3 loss teams … while I don’t think it’s entirely impossible with the wins we have …. I just know they will take a 2 loss team over a 3 and we have the best ooc win as of now .

i really have to wonder if this ever crossed anyone’s mind when offering OU and UTrans and then expanding to a 9 game conf schedule. lots of great games but the SEC is gonna cannibalize itself even more in the future.
