What was that running joke about the guy wanting to sell tickets to one of our games (in Atlanta maybe?) but the buyer had to stand up the whole time. Or something like that? Am I losing my mind? It was a while ago so my memory is cloudy.

Guy like to take up multiple seats. He would sell you the ticket in his group, but you had to promise not to set there.

It was a ticket in JHS, but I can't remember the seller or the potential buyer.

It honestly sounds like something Lanier would get himself into, but iirc he has some ticket hookups from former lettermen and wouldn't have to deal with the BS.

But yeah the guy was up front about it, "I'll sell you the ticket but you can't sit there."

Jones said I could hang out at his tailgate spot but couldn't eat his food or drink his beer. Didnt even let me sit under the tent. Could barely see the TV.

Its true

Seller was NYCAuburn. good dude. Had him and his wife at our tailgate a few times . He has not been around much lately.

Premise was, he had a ticket to sell because someone was not going with him in his group. He wanted to sell the ticket but didnt want any of your smelly bastards next to him so you could buy it but you had to go elsewhere in the stadium to watch the game. Ticket was only to get you in the gate.

Or something like that. Which led to the saying , "You can buy the seat but you cant sit in it" Then it grew

I bought the ticket so we could bring my son with us to the game and he just sat with us in our section where there are always tons of empty seats. My seats were in the letterman section.
