All the talk regarding Kiffin very likely leaving Ole Miss in the middle of a playoff run jogged my memory of all the places Kiffin had burned bridges. I know of UTk and USC, but didn't he leave Bama under less that pristine conditions also? Seems like something happened, but again I don't trust my memory so much these days.

He was hired at Florida Atlantic during our 2016 playoff run, but he decided to stay for the potential title.

He seemed distracted during the semifinals against Washington so Saban told him to just go and we elevated Sark to OC for the national title game.

Which we lost.

He's distracted right now. Ole Miss will probably under-perform. This is why you don't hire Kiffen.

He got so shite faced in Atlanta before the CFP Semifinal on Friday night, the training staff had to put him through the wringer so he could call the game on Saturday. Saban fired him after the game.

There’s also a rumor floating around that he screwed some fat cat booster’s wife, but no one will name names.

Kiffin started checking out towards the end of the regular season. As stated above, he fully checked out during the playoffs. The Washington gameplan was abysmal. Saban doesn’t pull that trigger before the National Championship unless he was absolutely forced by the circumstances to do it…so you can imagine how bad it must’ve gotten. Sark, McElwein, Kirby, etc. all got jobs but stayed focus for the championship games. Kiffin was the lone exception.

If he had stayed focused and committed to the team before leaving for FAU like every other coordinator did, there’s no doubt in my mind we beat Clemson, probably beat them comfortably, and that 2016 team goes down as one the greatest of all time.

He probably would be coaching in Tuscaloosa now if he had handled it all like a mature adult.

Wonder about the NFL, as well.

The Raiders thought he was a douche and that’s a fairly tight knit league. He may be running out of options if he wants to move up from Mississippi.

And Sark proceeded to give Jacob and Harris 6 combined carries, barely called any designed runs for Hurts, and instead made Hurts drop back about 35 times against a top 10 defense the game after Hurts had 50 passing yards. Basically he didn’t know what to do when Bo broke his leg. If Bama’s 2nd half drives each lasted a few seconds longer, Clemson wouldn’t have had the time for a comeback

Kiffin may have cost us 2 National Championships. frickstick called a shitass game against Ohio State in 2014.

Gets drunk for 2016 CFP, calls shite game against Washington and gets fired.

That's what I seemed to remember, but was fuzzy on the details or if my memory was playing tricks on me again.

So safe to say Sark hasn't changed either. Think he called 1 run against us in the 2nd qtr last Sat.

No disrespect, but what difference does it matter? Lane is a rich kid that benefited from his name and lineage. He has not accomplished anything on his own, yet.

Appreciate your service btw. Dad is a Marine and miss him everyday.

I was pissed when Saban hired him. It “modernized” the offense, but the dude is a turd.

He may have matured some at Mississippi, but he still seems like a mealy mouthed snake.

ETA: would be a great fit at Florida. LSU is charging hard but that place would eat him alive.

He really did call a terrible game that night. He had Derrick Henry yet kept leaning on Blake who was obviously struggling. Same thing with Washington in 2016. Washington couldn’t handle Bo but we kept dropping back Hurts.

Lane’s a brilliant OC but his biggest problem has always been his ego and trying to prove how smart he is.

We all thought he matured since getting to Ole Miss but if this keeps playing out this way, then it’s clear he hasn’t.

Did same thing in Oxford in 2014. He’s an elite OC when focused. Still needs to show he can “punch up” as a HC. Doesn’t win many games where he’s not the favorite.

It doesn't and no disrespect taken. It's just aggravating when my memory fails me and I have to ask about something I know I knew at one time. Happens more every day.

Yeah. I feel the same. I would hate it for any team and fanbase being subjected to what he's putting Ole Miss through at the moment.....but especially the players. Can't imagine how it's screwing with their focus. As a player spending years of blood, sweat and tears getting to where they are only to see their coach doing what Kiffin is doing. Y'all have been through it with him so I'm preaching to the choir I guess. I'll shut up rambling. Thanks for all who jogged my memory.

Hang in there buddy. Do something to keep your mind working. Crossword puzzles, shop work, anything. Worst thing you can do is quit.

My Dad has dementia, it sucks.
