Why no penalty on that play?

I was wondering the same thing also. Has the rule been changed?

Not sure. OU committed multiple penalties that the officials refused to throw the flags on. Not an excuse at all. Just the truth.

On the pick six I thought pass interference or holding should have been called. I think it was Isaiah Horton that looked like he was knocked off his route while the ball was in the air.

Not that I can find through online research.

I know that there was a clear PI on the left sideline where they clearly interfered with Germie. No flag was thrown. I guess that the PTB are getting payback for all the dominance under Saban.

There were several missed PI calls in the game. The guy hurdling our OL, I was screaming about before Talty shanked the kick. Then they show it 2-3 times on replay. As best I can tell, it’s still a penalty, was instituted in 2017.

I forgot about the deep ball in the first quarter that even McElroy couldn’t deny.

If anyone thinks that the officials are on the up and up, you’re in for a rude awakening. ESPN and the other PTB hate our program. They openly are rooting for us to lose. Add in sports betting and you have all sorts of corruption.

I can live with the lack of PI calls because they weren’t calling it on Bama either. But a field goal is a clear scoring opportunity, and a 275 pound dude hurdling linemen is difficult to miss.

Correct though it was very clear that OU defenders were mugging our receivers all day. The officials are either incompetent or corrupt if they don’t flag the illegal leverage play.

Is this not PI AND offsides?

The rule has not changed and a penalty should’ve been called. Period.

So officiating is to blame for OU sweeping the state of Alabama...

Also amazing that OU had a bye week before playing Alabama two straight years. That has to be just a coincidence. No malice here.

I can’t see numbers on that video, but whoever Right Guard winds up engaging is clearly lined up in the neutral zone.

I read where the defensive player cannot leap over the offense if they start more than a yard back from the LOS. Apparently, the OU leaper was on the LOS when the ball was snapped, thus legal to do what he did.
Heck, if anything, it kept the ball from hooking over to the sideline.

Yeah, they're given open dates like everyone else and just like everyone else they're gonna choose to leave the one open in front of Bama instead of North Succ N Fucc State. Not fixing this imbalance for consistently good teams in scheduling without centralizing scheduling (removing any scheduling control from the schools).

I’m sorry but you are mistaken. I’m a former Texas HS ref and Texas is one of only two states that use NCAA rules. Leaping like that is a penalty. Period.
