As we approach another coaching search please remember that our “insiders” are all full of shite and only care about driving subscriptions with vapid clickbait.

It will be very quiet. Cohen and Cohen only decision.

Granted pay sites have to generate a revenue or they lose their jobs so they will float names to generate interest

I stay away from pay sites. I get most of my Auburn news here. I also listen to Locked On and The Barn. These two have done a great job and not trying to pretend that they have any inside information. They have taken each of the “candidates,” and done a pros and cons show for them- upside, ceiling, floor, risk, etc…Now, the guy we hire might not even be on our radar, at least publicly, but it has been fun to listen to.

The most accurate reporting I heard was from Alan Head, on the Brain Drain, Saurday night: "We're probably not going to get a lot of info, or leaks, on this Coaching search since Cohen is running this himself."

I've learned, over the course of the last several searches, that the insiders know nothing. I'll give them an honorable mention for Kiffin, but that was the exception, not the rule.

We'll know within minutes of them hearing anything, and there's a good chance we'll all find out at the same time...

After the Kiffin leak and fallout, insiders have been warned to shut their mouths or risk losing their press pass

Caldwell is probably the closest of the paid writers to being an insider but he's careful not to release anything that the decision makers don't want him to release so he's not going to break anything

Which podcast does Caldwell do? Is it the Auburn Undercover one?

I have gotten breaking Auburn news from here and the SEC rant before any other Auburn sites in the past.

For example: back when Muschamp was the Auburn DC in the mid 2000's I read on here that he was spotted in Austin TX and was going to be leaving Auburn for the University of Texas. I shared this news over on ITAT and was SLAMMED for spreading "false gossip"....well, we all know what ended up happening LOL

Speaking of Will:

He and DJ are tight so I sure wouldn’t mind having him back @ DC if Smirkin’ Durkin gets the job

There are a few but it’s few and far between.

Most of my info comes from HS coaches around the state that are plugged in.(better for recruiting) but I do have some booster friends that donate a ton of money. (Different tax bracket than me.)

Also friends with some former players although they hear less and less through as we all get into our mid/late 30s.

Dufners lip, Rejects, and like two others that post on Bunker do hear a lot and the beat writers know infinitely more than they can say.

I don't subscribe, but all the pay guys are pretty decent and fun. I think they are over pretending to have inside info.

I would like to point out that Cole Pinkston is head and shoulders above the rest as far as providing insight and analysis.

He should start his own site.

Jason Caldwell
I like Jason, but I don't think he is much of an a real insider. I think he has good relationships with a lot of the folks down at Auburn, but he rarely breaks any news. It is always somewhere else first. And his minions over on those boards defend it by saying, well, he doesn't want to take a chance at messing up something with his sources. I don't really buy that.

This is the way. And if the call is Durkin let him find an OC of his choice and let the OC fill out his entire offensive staff.

This is very underrated source of information. The high school coaches talk to the college coaches probably more than any other group.

I wrote another comment but I read the initial poster's comment wrong. DJ and Will as HC would be cool I guess. I don't know that Will would leave uga for a lateral move. Don't see the point.

I go for Derrick Nix if his play calling was like Saturday night. I believe Freeze had complete control of the playcalling, and just said that he included Nix for PR reasons.
