Minnesota later this week.
Some talent on the team. Looks like a middle of the pack SEC team which likely translates into a tournament team.

Haven’t watched a game yet. Although I did hear we struggle with FTs?
Anything else worth mentioning? Help a lazy guy out?

Mitchell and Robinson are the core. The new big guy, Phillips, is a menace if he can stay healthy. Springy 7 footer.
Boateng seems to have taken a big step forward (though he’s been held out for the start of the season).
Pierce is also out with a nagging injury.
Stone and Mack are transfers who can get buckets (at least in non-con). We’ll see if that continues. Neither are shooters as much as scorers.
Crews is still the blackest white guy on the team.
Randall, 6’ 9” FR from STL, might develop into something as the year goes along.
Barrett is looking like he’s trying to press too much in taking his next step forward. We’ll need him to learn to play within himself.
Northweather and Porter provide some size, some situational shooting and some rebounding.
Streaky team like all of Gates’ teams. Probably his longest team. We will make rebounding tough for some teams. And give up a bunch of 3s.

It’s early, team is putting up points. If they can gel and find some rhythm on defense who knows. Gotta be more lock down defensively for sure…but it’s early. FT’s will be a problem this year based on growing sample size. I’ve not watched other sec team so can’t comment on how we finish there, but Mitchell’s gonna be a beast in the league

4-0
Good win against the P 4 team.
Cruise had a good night yeah that spelled wrong, but this voice text
Mitchell had a great night
We would’ve been up 20 at half if we did any rebounding at all
Barrett played hard and effort showed up in the box score as well. He did have some bonehead plays.
Turning point in the game was a single trip where we got eight points on that trip down the floor. Really Separating us in what had been a close game to that point

First half looked like any NBA game ... 5 guys outside 3 line, spread floor, 1 guy goes 1-3 and if he doesn't kick it out ... turnover/prayer (make/miss) ...
Minnesota ran the same cutting action like 3x in a row for easy lay ups ...
Sure, in the end, 23 point win but the offense and defense will have to evolve to beat the likes of kansas, Illinois, Florida, etc

Agreed. Defense looked suspect, especially with Randle in the game.

Really overmatched rent-a-win.
Crews had a game.
TO Barrett continues his struggles against invisible goblins making the ball bounce away from him. Nicholas Randle fouled out in less than 5 minutes (not an exaggeration).
We were up by 35 and won by 18 with the scrubs doing their best impersonation of Prairie View A&M.
Nothing gained. Nothing learned. Onto the next.
