Does NOT look like the are rewarding teams for playing tough OOC games.

Don’t know why take the risk. If I was an AD I would schedule cupcakes and nothing else.

Verge was literally in charge of LSU scheduling. He sucked at it, we promoted him.

He’s an atrocious hire.

Nor are they rewarding tough conference schedules. It's some 1984 byu shite still going on 40 years later.

I believe the reason they put OSU over IU was the fact that we played Texas and IU had a cupcake non-conference

They are rewarding OSU because of the brand. They are penalizing A&M for having a SOS better than both OSU and IU for the same reason.

It’s not about results on the field. The “eye test” means “I believe it is so it is”.

That’s just OSU though. Others aren’t being rewarded. ND is another privileged example. Why are they in the top 10? No way.

Not saying Indiana isn't good but their resume is not that impressive except for the fact they're crushing mostly bottom feeders.

Why is anyone worrying about a virtually meaningless first week of November poll?

The only poll that matters is the last one and it’s been shown over and over again that the committee voters will make big changes at the drop of a hat.

And you are surprised? They never will. Only your record and the “eyeball test” matter. SEC is stupid to go to nine conference games

This is why I am ok with a 12 or 16 team playoff. Make sure you get the best team in the country in, regardless of what some numbnuts in NY thinks.

They are penalizing A&M because of giving up 42 to Arkansas……
Arkansas.

They mentioned Defense twice in the conversation last night.

Ohio State beat Texas convincingly.
Indiana beat Oregon convincingly.
Texas A&M beat Notre Dame unconvincingly.

It ain't hard.

I told some people on here earlier in the year that the polls were going to screw SEC teams based on their inconsistency and addiction to overhyped teams with weak schedules.

And I was then told to relax because the committee would sort through the SOS and quality wins vs losses.

They’ll use whatever rationale supports the conclusion they want, no matter how inconsistent that ends up being year to year. Same as always

Booger McFarland said Texas A&M had the most impressive road win of any team in the country because they beat Notre Dame in South Bend.

Two loss Notre Dame.

Guess beating #5 ranked Georgia in Athens doesn't mean much these days.

As much as I prefer to play other SEC teams, Sankey got snookered into the 9 game season. It only hurts SEC teams playoff chances.

Bama definitely has the best wins resume of those top teams. They have an argument to be higher despite the bad FSU loss.
