It may come down to a 10-2 ND team versus a 10-2 miami team.
How will the committee justify having ND be in the playoffs and bumping out the team that beat them?
Miami is trending down. ND is trending up but Miami beat them….
This scenario breaks college football.

This is true. My money would be on the 10-2 ND team.

My bad. I meant Miami.

Based on history alone a 10-2 ND is in and would get the nod over Miami. It’s not right but it’s what would happen.
I hate the precedent as I think head to head should matter but ND is a special case like it or not

But really. How do they leave Miami out?

ND shouldn’t make the playoffs unless there’s another collapse by someone else other than Miami. UM should definitely get in over ND.

I agree sir. I hate it too. But you know that’s absolutely what is happening.

I don’t think that happens because we live in a world where money means everything.

I think a 10-2 Miami (and a 10-2 A&M) would get in ahead of a 10-2 ND.
Could be wrong.

Unfortunately I think ND gets the pick. They will take ND. It sucks.

It wouldnt break college football, thats literally how college football has been run forever
The reality is that 10-2 Miami and 10-2 Notre Dame will jump 10-2 Vanderbilt or 10-2 Ole Miss if those are two of the bubble teams for the SEC.
Texas, OU, Bama, UGA would all be locks at 10-2.

Here’s the thing. Miami is not going to finish 10-2. They will lose to either NC State or Pittsburgh maybe even both.

ND fatigue by the general CFP public is real…..Miami hasn’t been in the limelight light for a several decades……Miami hasn’t the hth ove ND
Miami IMO although either would lose in first round

That’s not happening, ole miss beat down Oklahoma

Easy.
There are two teams. Team A lost to Louisville and SMU. Team B lost to Miami and Texas A&M. Which team has worse losses?
Rationalization complete.

Ole Miss hasnt beaten anyone the committee will care about besides Oklahoma, who likely finishes the year 9-3 or maybe even 8-4.
Notre Dame will 100% get the nod over Ole Miss if they are both 10-2, their USC win is about equivalent, but they have the bigger brand and will bring eye balls + they can hide behind broader schedule strength by saying Notre Dame has better metrics and losses
