Beamer should be next and the rumor is it's a great possibility if he loses to Clempson.

If they lose to Coastal it’s a guarantee.

I mean sure - but between LSU, Auburn, PSU, and FSU already looking for HCs, who exactly do you think we’re going to get?

Reading news articles online, looks like it was all Beamer's decision.

quote:

Was this fully your decision to move on from Shula? How much did Jeremiah Donati have to do with it? Or was it more mutual between you two?

“This was 100 percent my decision. One billion percent my decision. I reached out to Jeremiah this morning and had a great conversation with him. But this conversation was not initiated or anything from anyone else but me.”

It also sounds like we're going to have OC by committee for the rest of the year.

If it had been 100% his decision that I think Donati would look more favorably at him.

If it wasn't his decision (which I am 50/50 on) then I think for Donati that makes the leash much shorter.

Shane looked pretty damn pissed , clearly cursing at Shula on the headset so it's not out of the realm of possibility that he did fire him...

Pretty sure it was a “either you fire him or I’ll fire both of you” kind of thing.

If we finish 5-7, Shane will get another year.

If we finish 4-8, it’s a 50-50 thing and if Shane does keep his job, he’s on a a very short leash next year. He’ll need us to start hot and show significant improvement on offense, particularly with the OL.

If we finish 3-9, he’s gone.

yeah pretty much agree on this, and honestly it's more than fair

Yeah for me personally, the only way I’d keep him on after 4-8 is if we hire a great OC AND convince LaNorris to come back for one more year.

All of our collective money needs to go into OL though because going on 5 years with dookie at those positions is unacceptable. 5 years in and only one OL has been drafted during Beamer’s tenure and that was a 7th rounder in 2023 that was recruited by Muschamp.

That's because our philosophy on OL is regression. I get he's been under Shula's tutelage for a year, but I'm not sold that LS is actually going to develop into what we hoped he would. He still can't deliver an accurate pass, throw the ball away, or make more than 2 reads. I get the OL has sucked this season, but a lot of our struggles are on LS too.

He’s seeing ghosts out there because our line is so arse. He’s literally the second most sacked qb in all of college football and that’s with him breaking multiple sacks a game. Opponents defensive lines are playing on easy mode against our offensive line so we has no time to progress through his reads and deliver with fluid set mechanics.

When sellers steps into it he deadly accurate, and throws a good ball with zip. Ive noticed lately that he has this bad habit of throwing falling away, or soley off his back foot. Every time he does that he airmails it and lollipops it.

That deep ball to harbor last week he stepped into and it was a laser. Several of the bad throws were thrown falling away

Checked in with mom and dad this PM. They told me that Mike Furrey had been named as interim OC.

But I would guess most on here already knew that.

I get it, it hasn't been great but the last two weeks it has been far better and he still isnt stepping into throws on clean pockets.

and lets be honest, not all the sacks are on the OL. Sellers is running into a lot of sacks too.
