In 1999 Alabama finished 8th lost to Tennessee but the Vols gave a cheap shot to Shaun Alexander early in the game and sent him to bench after a few plays.

Alabama actually ended up SEC champs in 1999 and had a better season than Tennessee.

All this talk about Fulmer vs Alabama from Tennessee fans is really sad it happened in worst 10 year period in Alabama history 1997-2006.
During this era Florida still owned Tennessee.

A loss is a loss. Do Saban wins against Tennessee not count since he was beating Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, and Jeremy Pruitt? Shut up retard

Fat Phil is hated because he is a rat fricking snitch.

Has nothing to do with him stabbing Johnny Majors in the back, to be clear.

He did piss Mal Moore off enough to go and hire Nick Saban though, which led to Fat’s demise as both a coach and AD.

This is a fair point. However, since 1960 Tennessee only has like 10 other wins outside the Fulmer years. And they all came during transition type years for Alabama. For example, the late 60s before Bear switched to the wishbone, and the early 80s as Bear was retiring.

So he's not really wrong in pointing out that Tennessee is really only successful when Alabama is down for other reasons.

In overtime to a QB who played light outs by the name of Tom Brady.

You can say the exact same thing for Tennessee. That’s the nature of the rivalry. One teams success comes at the other demises

Neyland dominated in the 50s - Bama was bad
Bear Bryant dominates early 60s - Vols are bad
Doug Dickey dominates late 60s - Bama is bad and changing offense
Bear Bryant dominates all 70s - Doug Dickey is gone and Tennessee is down
Johnny Majors comes in early 80s - Beat Bryant retires and Bama transitions
Gene Stallings comes in early 90s - Tennessee transitioning from Majors to Fulmer
Fulmer dominates for a decade - Bama is bad post Stallings
Saban comes in and dominates Tennessee in worst decade in program history

You are what you are. There's no asterisk on Bama's teams between Stallings and Saban except for cheating.

You only win about 33% of the time in the modern era.

Bear won 11 straight

Curry and Stallings combined for 8-0-1(and Perkins had 1 of them) during the 80s and early 90s

Coaches they did well against:

Perkins, they went 3-1
DeBose, 4-0
Shula, they went 3-1

How do you justify a loss?

Does that mean you are trying to justify losing like 44 of the last 65 or some shite like that?
