Stuff like this is one of the several reasons his phone didn't get a ring from Alabama when Saban retired. There are those within the Alabama program who were around when Kiffin left Saban high and dry right before a title game and who also cannot stand his childish social media antics. I'm sure he doesn't care, but it does cost him potential opportunities with some.

You definitely have to take the good with the bad when it comes to his social media presence. This type of stuff absolutely annoys me. And even if it was posted completely innocently(he does share a lot of religious stuff), then that shows he has zero awareness.

I don’t know how much it factored into the Bama opening, but I agree that I wouldn’t want it our program.

Who knows if Spurrier’s needling would have gotten the same way if social media had been a thing in the 90’s, but his antics came across a lot more as good ol’ boys ribbing each other in the back yard. Even his targets would often chuckle at it because it usually didn’t seem mean-spirited.

Lane comes across much more as the reasonably talented guy that needles and brags more than his actual accomplishments merit. You can’t completely dismiss him because he can actually do things, but not to the degree commensurate with his behavior.

He lets his alligator mouth overload his hummingbird arse.

Are they anything like the Post-Nutt clarity Arkansas fans from back in the day?

Probably not. Florida has won championships this century.

Some of our best writers have been Mississippians and this post is yet another, more contemporary, addition to that esteemed catalog.

I actually like Lane but there are still too many of the "old guard" affiliated with the Bama program from when he was here and not as mature. So most Bama fans knew when Saban retired, it was a long shot to get Lane to Tuscaloosa. He left a few bridges burnt when he left.

There is a lot of bourbon and despair that helps inspire our literary history.

Yeah his off-the-field personality is not a great fit for the Bama program. They would have to take his phone away like Auburn did to Freeze.

fantastic way to publicize to everyone that you've made it onto the coach's shite list.

Also pretty sure Neat's name ended up all the way in the parking lot.

I don't think the social media trolling was nearly as big of an impediment as fricking a booster/board member's wife. Getting fired a week before the title game just made it where no one was going to stick their neck out for him when Saban retired.

Arkansas fans tried to warn you what a petty vindictive turd Nutt was. At least y'all were happy for a couple of years

The back-to-back Cotton Bowls and endless entertainment from Arkansas fans made it worth it. Barely....but worth it.
