I would normally want to hate on you this weekend, but alas, I think Kentucky fans need a loss to continue the momentum to get rid of Stoops.

The close game against Texas only serves to highlight what's wrong with his coaching. Texas is an abysmal offensive team, yet we couldn't outscore them, and that seems to be a trend we have seen for several years now.

It's stale and needs to change. Our defense has been our bright spot for what seems like 5 years now, but as games go on, they rightfully tire out, and we give them little reason to keep fighting. If we had any semblance of an offense the last few years, we would have gone to some nice bowls.

So, here's to you winning in what I'm certain will be a convincing way. Our series has been way too lopsided for far too long, but I don't see this weekend making any difference. Maybe after a coaching change.

So, do us a solid and put us out of our misery so we can move on to a coach who will allow the offense to actually try to score, and actually know the other teams strengths and avoid them.

I'm fine with bringing back the beer barrel, but I think a whiskey barrel would be more appropriate. Let's hope no one gets hurt this weekend.

The real Tennessee fans on here are good people.

And to the unlimited alters upon alters whose sole purpose is to embarrass real UT fans, this thread isn't for you to sky scream (and no, I will not respond to your sky screaming either).

Ah so you’ve gone code black.

We’ve been there.

Edit- Losing to you typically ends a coach’s tenure. Tbf

You know, this mentality is really weird to me. I've been watching Alabama football for over 50 years and I have never in my life wished for a loss for this purpose.

Like ever. I hope I never have to either.

I have at times thought a loss would be fitting for some entitled fans, but that's about it.

Florida has shown that you can win the game and still fire your coach. Other than that we are good for nothing.

You've had minimal reasons to. Maybe the Kline and Shula eras.

Stoops has been our best coach since Bryant. 2 10 win seasons, multiple bowl games for a traditional low performing program. I don't hate on him at all, but like I said in my initial post, it's gotten stale. Just like with Cal. It's time for a change of scenery for him, and a change of scenery for the fans.

We finally know that we can compete, but his in game decision making is terrible, and his last few years of hires are completely uninspiring. The spark here is gone. I hope Va Tech or Iowa come get him, he would be great there, or even in the big10, but defense only football doesn't win in the SEC. I think everyone just wants a change at this point. Take the short term pain. There is no way of knowing if the next coach can be successful or as successful, but the only way you know it is to have one.

Yes, I would rather we find a win to beat Tennessee and fire Stoops.

I get it. Like I said, I hope I never have to hope for losses just to get a coaching change.

If anything, the coaches for me have left and I was sad they left(not always). Even Bill Curry heading to Kentucky I was kind of blindsided. Fran was a nut punch at the time. Perkins is largely ignored, but he had Alabama trending in the right direction before heading back to the NFL.

I suppose there is always a scenario where we beat Tennessee, but lose to Auburn/Vandy/Florida/Louisville and still fire him, but my worst fear would be we somehow go 5-7 with a win over say Tennessee and Louisville and we have to keep him.

As someone who spent a weekend trapped in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge two weeks ago I can still proudly state I'm still Tennessee. Who's idea was it to put a tourist trap with no parking in the middle of an area thats fed by two lane country highways. Honestly I should blame the couple that got married there but it is what it is.

Praise Dolly though.

Kentucky seems to always give us a game

We can’t play like we did against Bama and expect to win.

Hoping your own team loses. Pathetic.

p.s. You'll never have a coach as good as Stoops again.

You're deranged. They've beaten you what, fifty years in a row or something?

I’m afraid we’ll have to keep because of the ridiculous buyout. We can only wish that he gets an opportunity elsewhere and decides to leave on his own.

My working theory. Barnhart should talk to Va Tech AD and offer $18M for them to take him. Then fire stoops and let va tech take him and save us $20M.

This feels like the absolutely least hyped up Beer Barrel game week I can ever remember. I hate it. I care more about beating Tennessee than I do Louisville. But our fan base just seems absolutely resigned to our fate the rest of the season until a change is finally made.
