does anyone know why the paint on saban field always looks faded, like it hasn't been touched in a year or two? it seems like it's been this way for years n years.

They do it every Friday before a game, so maybe just a paint choice or something with the paint and grass not popping like other stadiums.

I remember going to my first game in T-Town in about 1996. They used the big block letters "Crimson Tide" in the endzone; all white. I remember looking down at the field and thinking "Man this looks so dull in real life."

I liked the Big White Block Letters in the Endzones.

I also liked the no logo at midfield, hated the white script A we put there for like a year,I’m fine with what we got now.

it just seems to me that someone with the authority could notice this and say, hey, maybe we could make this look better. they have to know that it looks dull in hd. maybe someday they'll decide to do better.

To be fair, ESPN's cameras don't really do anyone's field justice. Their color grading is washed out or something. CBS and NBC look great.

If the paint is too thick and deep, the grass cannot get enough sun light and dies. They cut it as soon after a game as they can to remove the top layer of paint and give the grass as much recovery time as they can before the next game.

i get that its never gonna pop like the paint on the carpet fields. plus it just dawned on me that the paint may be a special paint to do the least amount of damage, that just doesnt pop. then i think, we can send a man to the moon.... alas, we still struggle building a bridge the same height as the road.

Pretty sure it was “ALABAMA” in white letters through the 90s. It was pretty basic and no color background.

Or a phone screen that doesn't break...or free dental care, greatest country in the history of the world and we can't provide people with good dental care.

Trying to match Nick's hair dye choices.

I actually liked that font. Wish we’d bring it back.

People have been complaining about this before. Seem to remember the reasoning being that by October, the field is in rough shape due to the wear & tear of the season plus less direct sunlight.

Look at highlights from the last few years, it doesn’t seem any different. I agree though, wish it popped a little more. Probably due for an endzone refresh. We’ve had the current graphic/color setup since 2009.
