I realize this is not the board for reasonable discusssion, but I’ve got a few minutes so what the hell.

I believe Lane loves Ole Miss and Oxford. I just do. He seems happy, and he seems to be at peace. HOWEVA, there is no way in this world Lane Kiffin would say no to the University of Florida. He couldn’t. You know all the reasons why. I won’t list them again. Truth is, he’s been in Oxford much longer than ANYBODY ever thought he would. He’s won a lot of games, and I’ve had a ball. As fans, there ain’t anything we can do about any of it anyway, so I’ll just enjoy it while it lasts. When he goes, he goes. News at 7.

Ole Miss fans have started significantly more lane to Florida threads than anyone else. Can yall just admit that whenever a job that is better than OM opens (which is the majority of the P4 schools) your fans are scared shitless for good reason?

Yeah, based on his history, I'm sure he's staying put.

Lane is not leaving Oxford until Knox graduates. Family has become more important to him now and he knows Oxford is a better place to raise a family.

He will leave one day, but today is not that day and Florida is not that school currently.

So does Kiffin invite you over for dinner along with themetalreb? Weekly? What do they make for you?

Ole Miss would immediately sink back to the cellar of the conference.

But I guess you’re right, fear is a choice!

I would agree, but here's the thing: Lane has a legit playoff team right now. And based on his portal skills, he'll probably have one next year, too. I don't think that's guaranteed at UF. Napier is a great recruiter, too, and it wasn't enough to make it at Florida.

I wonder if LK sees all the administrative drama and just says screw it, I can win plenty of games right here and the fam is happy, too.

This board is full of trolls and juveniles, so yes, a decent, serious conversation is almost impossible.

Kiffin to Florida makes absolutely no sense. None. 15 years ago, Florida was a significantly better job than Ole Miss, today, not so much. Florida is about to be on their 5th different coach in 12 years. Doesn’t sound like a dream destination to me. There is something seriously wrong with the alignment at the University of Florida between the administration, the boosters, and the football program.

Lane has a great situation at Ole Miss. Administration, Boosters, & fanbase are all in alignment and support him. He’s making enough cash and the $$ is not going to really be that much better anywhere else.

I seriously don’t see any reason why Kifffin would want to leave Ole Miss at this point in his life.

I think Lane is at Florida next year. It will be interesting to see who Ole Miss hires

Fine. Carry on with your coping speculation like you know the guy personally.

Happy vs contentment. If he says no he will always wonder if he settled.

Nothing wrong with him settling for Ole Miss. He has the support of the fans and administration, wins most of the games he is supposed to and puts an existing product on the field. And I believe those things matter a ton to Kiffin right now. He has done the NFL, he has coached at 2 blue bloods, he has tried to have a legendary career as a coach.

Maybe it was just too much too soon and contentment has more value to him than being a legend. That’s the decision he has to make.
