They’ll be doing well to get to 8-4 every year. Brutal schedule year in and year out. Billy Napier is a good coach. Butch Jones would be a good fit.

It can be a really easy job with the right head coach.

Lots of good to very good coaches. But every school wants a killer, of which there are 1 or 2. There was Saban. Dabo got to that level but has fallen off a cliff. Kirby's the best right now, with Day right there.

Outside of that... Lanning? Kiffin? Sark? I don't know who all these schools firing their coaches think they're going to get that won't have them right back in the same spot in 5 years.

It’s tough but no different from UGA. It’s just the right coach needs to be there

People are gonna overanalyze it to death until it’s done, but Kiffin to Florida just makes too much sense.

Rhule to PennSt
Kiffin to Florida
Sumrall to Kentucky
Petrino at Arkansas
Beamer to VaTech

On paper it’s a top tier job. The issues are in the AD and above. They need to get the rest of their house in order and decide if they are going to invest in football or not. Until then they will have decent to good rosters and struggle with consistency.

Typically no. Their schedule the last 2 years was absurd tho

Go look at Florida 2024 football schedule then look at 2024 Texas football schedule

This is the most logical list I can think of. But I bet one of these schools will throw a curve ball and hire someone outside the box

Florida is a borderline top 20 job. The people that believe Florida has some kind of advantage simply because they are in Florida are just wrong.

Florida is a tough job. That is why only two coaches in their history have had consistent top level success. The stress of maintaining that success made one quit.

The fact that you even put question marks next to their name is laughable. It’s like saying we want a killer animal to showcase at the zoo. Squirrel? Duck?

Where does Venables go and who takes Venables’s spot at OU?

But apparently they came to mind when trying to think of the coaches closest to being “killers” after Smart and Day, though.

One of those coaches has been in the playoff semi finals the past 2 years, won a conference championship and went to another the following year.

Mysteriously you left off the coach that got handed a prebuilt program, has 1 playoff appearance and 0 playoff wins
