Are any of yall from arkadelphia, amity , or alpine area? Where im originally from.

Never thought I would see Amity on a message board page

Mom’s side of the family is from amity, dad was born in Lodi. So basically all of my family is from that area.

I grew up about 4 miles from where it was hit. We've known mountain lions have been there for years, despite what AGFC says. We've heard them plenty. If you've hunted on Jack Mountain any, you've definitely heard them.

Years ago, a former AGFC guy told me if they acknowledge the panthers, they have to develop and implement a plan for them, and they don't want to. They will say the cat was just passing through.

Not from there but spent a lot of time there the last two weeks. State golf tournament.
Love that area and that golf course!
Haven't seen a lion but dang near hit a whole flock of turkeys on the way up from El Dorado.

Glenwood is a nice course. One of my aunts lives on the Caddo River. If any one knows where baker rock is on the river, her house is right there.

My Dad's family is all from the Pansy to Star City area I spent a lot of time around there growing up. Everyone in the family that hunted always talked about panthers being around and seeing them. I never did but it was common knowledge that they were around.

I heard one about 5 am just outside of Amity one morning. About 20 yrs ago now. Was getting ready to go hunting and heard a blood curling scream toward a neighbors house that was about 300 yards away, but I could tell it was closer than that.

I instinctively thought it was the lady who lived there screaming for her life. Then I heard it “pouncing” and the sound of it jumping while screaming and jarring in its voice while bounding. It was moving too fast to be human so I wrote it off. Didn’t occur to me until a few hours later that it was probably a panther. I didn’t see it but I have no other idea what could’ve made that god awful sound. And it was on the ground so it wasn’t a screech owl or a bird.
