Hire James Franklin

He did a decent job at Vandy. He has experience running a big time program. He has star power with recruits. Give the guy a chance to make Penn State wish they hadn't fired him.

I know I'm gonna get killed for this, but he could be the perfect bridge back to respectability

Would be par for the course. We’ve had one coach since Dye that I didn’t have to talk myself into being excited about.

Who could we hire that you would get excited about?

Not sure I want to hire anyone that’s just won the lottery

Word making the rounds is that Adidas was behind the sudden move to ditch Franklin. supposedly they offered to pay all or most of the buyout. also making the rounds is that Matt Rhule is the leading candidate to take over at PSU.

I posted this in the Alston thread thought maybe people might find it interesting in this thread.

It’s all about optics. The rest of the country and coaches will see they fired Harsin mid season. Freeze has lost close games to 3 top 10ish teams 2 on the road and in 2 games got absolutely hosed by the officials.

I’ve heard regardless the season Freeze can still remain if he gets an OC and turns the offense completely over. I’m sure that comes with a lot of caveats meaning the new OC can bring in whoever he wants on that side of the ball. Cohen and couple of the boosters are still all in on Freeze.

I think every team in the country would take Lanning except UGa at this point

The problem is that we have no realistic chance of hiring him

they don’t want to admit they made a terrible mistake

i think i may check out completely if we go 6-6 or worse and our PTB keep pouring JP-8 on this raging dumpster fire

It has nothing to do with pride on wanting to stay with Freeze at this time. They just like us are fans as well but have to be measured in their approach.

This is true. The officiating crutch is keeping him employed. His offense is still inept.

Even rich people don’t like burning money. It would probably take around $50m to fire Freeze and staff and hold most of the current players on the team.

One is 0-100 the other is 100-0. Decide which you believe

Granted losses keep piling up and those same feelings and backing could be flushed quickly.
