Risky game for the Vols being Petrino 's first game back and Bama the next week later. Even UCLA 's interim coach got them inspired enough to beat Penn State.

Petrino is dangerous but he's only had two weeks to work. Got rid of the entire defensive staff I saw which is interesting because the Arkansas DC called a great defensive game plan against UT last year.

2 weeks to work on the defense. He’s had 2 years with the offense. It’s entirely possible that he was holding back the O to get Pittman fired. We’ll find out Saturday.

Our defense is complete trash but it’s still possible that we’re an offensive juggernaut.

The game will be a shootout imo. McCoy, the preseason top rated CB in the nation, is still out for the Vol's. Arky will get plenty of yards and points imo.

Either he convinces them they have a ton to play for and they play inspired football or they lay down and play completely flat. We shall see.

I think Petrino gets the interim bump out of them, but I don't think it will be enough to beat Tennessee outright. Arkansas +11.5

The offense has been good enough (with the exception of the ND game). If you score over 30 points and lose, the offense did enough to win in most cases.

I just don't understand these kids who work so hard their entire lives to make it to this level but then fail to give 100 percent of effort and intensity every single rep come game time to better promote themselves and more importantly to try to win.

It's mind boggling to me that motivation or effort would ever be a problem. Just a good reminder that these are still very immature little kids out there playing for the most part. Good coaching shouldn't even be required to inspire real effort from each individual player at this point imo.

Arkansas has a history of giving Tennessee hell, but if they win this one, I'll be shocked.

I agree.... never made sense to me either. Take our LB Sorey. Supposedly trying to play into a first round pick but instead he's playing his way into not getting drafted. Effort has been horrible, fits are garbage, and tackling is absolutely terrible.

If I was an NFL scout there's maybe three guys I'd even consider Ball the DT and Lee an Rhodes the DE's that are borderline NFL prospects at best right now. Hoping our new DL coach can get more effort out of them.
Our LB's were supposed to be our strength and they have been misaligned and sloppy with reads pretty much all season. Don't know if that's coaching, effort, or both. but hopefully it gets better

I agree Sorey has looked like trash; but, didn't he suffer a quad injury in the 2nd or 3rd game? Wonder if it was worse than everyone thought....

I think we win this game by 10. Arkansas is going to be able to move the ball regardless of who’s leading their program.

On the other hand, if you’re Josh Huepel this needs to be a blow out win to show you have a team that’s talented enough to get to CFP.
