For some odd reason, we seem to struggle agianst UK when we seemingly have no reason to. We are always far more talented but have turned in some real head scratchers. Going back the last several years:

2019: Coming off the horrendous SC loss. However it was at home and at night so that should equal out the dispapointment from prior week. It was 0-0 at halftime and 14-0 entering the 4th. We'd go on to a boring as hell 21-0 victory
2020: Monken's offense put up 7 points in the first half for a 7-3 halftime score. It'd remain that way until just before the end of the 3rdQ when we scored to make it 14-3 which ended up the final margin
2021: One of our best teams ever led 14-7 at half and 24-7 entering the 4Q. Would go on to solidly win 30-13. In fairness this was a solid UK team that was ranked in the top 20 at the time.
2022: Monken's offense put up no touchdowns in the first half for a 9-0 halftime score. We'd get a rushing TD in the 3rd to go up 16-0 and we wouldn't score again en route to an odd 16-6 victory.
2023: No issues as we blasted them early and often
2024: Another weird/lazy showing as we trailed 6-3 at half and 9-6 entering the 4Q. We would rally to lead by one point 13-12 but UK had several chances late and couldn't cash in

I have no idea why we play so down to them but it's a bit concerning for Saturday. A noon game coming off a majorly deflating letdown game, and with AU looming next week, is not good on paper. Both for the fanbase energy, crowd noise, and the players mentally I woulnd't think. I figure we will either come out wiht our hair on fire trying to erase last week and take care of business, or we will repeat almost all of the above nad sleepwalk to a way too close to comfort win that isn't sealed until late.

People are taking this game for granted bc UK kinda sucks and it's at home, but history has shown this is not a game we can jsut show up and half arse.

Would be more worried if it was an away game.

I think we win and cover.

Oh I definitely think we'll win, it'd be shocking not to. I just hope we avoid the same way of going about it that we have lately.

Honestly what I really want to see is us focus almost entirely on the real passing game. As in, not just screens. Downfield and over the middle. Get Colbie, Branch, and the TEs involved as much as possible. Then in the 2nd half when we have a lead get Noah Thomas, wiley, taylor, etc some work.

To me we know exactly what we have in the run game, it's not a mystery. Bownens is the man and is outstanding. Mccray is excellent and can't be stopped inside of 2 yards. Frazier is electric but fumbles. Phillips is fast. All of this is crystal clear. But our passing game has jsut been blah all year so I'd like to use this game to get it on track heading into next week.

I think NIL and the portal have hurt teams like UK more than most schools. They used to bring in low rated players and develop them over a few years. Now they don’t have that so I feel like we roll Saturday

Unless Branch or someone makes a few big scoring plays this could be something like 14-3 at half and Dawgs pull away in 4th Qt, 24-10. If We turn it over, who knows.

Konservative Kaller Kirby gets us off to a slow start and we have a close game with stoops and his band of retards.

I want to see sustained drives on offense, we don't have a dominant defense this year and O is going to have to pull their weight to keep the d on the sidelines.

I want a toss sweep as our first play every game this season with an occasional play action pass or misdirect built off the same play.... Let the defense know we plan to be physical all day.

We are who we are at this point. I would expect more of the same. Kentucky will come out and try and throw it all over the place. They don’t have the talent of an Alabama or Tennessee, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them have some success early.

The good news is that this is the shittiest Kentucky team in years. If the game was at Kentucky it would be a candidate for a Alabama hangover. I think the crowd will be really good for a noon kickoff and coming off a loss. We cover at home for the second time in the last 2 seasons dammit!

Georgia - 38
Kentucky - 10

I guess a few positives - we haven't lost to Kentucky at home(correct me if I am wrong)since 2010. #2 - Kentucky doesn't seem to be that good this year. It's a 12pm start so the stadium will probably not be filled up until the 2nd quarter. Looking at ticket prices, there may be some empty seats in the upper section. Generally the crowd is kind of mellow for a 12pm homecoming start so we will see how that affects the team. Still Stoops team are tough and play hard but I would expect we win this won without too much stress. The offense seems a lot better this year; almost a flip from last year where the O was the problem and the D was often stellar. Kentucky night games are the ones that seem to get weird; especially in Lexington.

First third down attempt we better see Cash on the sidelines

Kentucky should be another tune-up game like the first 2 games of the season and we need another one to get some things worked out on offense and defense.
We have a lot of young players and every game is a learning experience.
No clue what the spread is but I think we roll.

The thing about Cash that I don't understand is that if he's so amazing at 3rd down pass people, why doesn't the RB coach teach the more capable backs to emulate him?

It's tricky because he might be the best receiving back in the SEC. He runs like a slot receiver and also can block. Georgia probably doesn't come back against Tech without him and he scored the only TD against Notre Dame. You can see why the coaches like him.

I think fans should separate Cash Jones being in the game on third and short and being on the field in third and medium or third and long. Having him on the field on third and short has produced some of the worst Georgia football memories in recent times and the Cash Jones third and short package needs to be thrown in the trash can.

But I'd push back pretty strongly about Cash Jones not playing anymore.

Apparently there's a highlight video for every obscure player these days...

Was kidding about Cash...he's a good player and has stepped up for us time and time again.

No reason for Cash to ever play. He helped us last year when our Offense was bad and he is being rewarded with loyalty.

Play the best players ALWAYS

Coming off a disappointing loss

History of slow starts going back a calendar year

Noon game.

Has all the makings of being a slop fest.

I agree, wouldn't even be surprised if we are down at halftime again.

Just writing for me, but I don’t expect to win any of our remaining games. I don’t expect to lose any of them, either.

Kirby was very happy how the team responded this week, let’s see how that translates to the field?

Kentucky is not as good as they have been in the past, I hope the UGA defense does not help them look better than they are. I never thought I’d say that with Kirby at the helm..

I’d like to see Nate come out and run his tail off without a turnover!

Dawgs 28-10
