Some LSU fans think Kelly will retire by next year. Why would he do that?

He can just carry on as usual and get paid tens of millions to go

Why walk away. Just get fired and collect 60 mil.

It’s nice to not be the school stuck with a coach past his prime who’s locked in to a massive contract. Way more fun being on this side of it

I'm just waiting on the LSU tradition of head coaches there on the hot seat having photos of themselves in the bed with someone other than their spouse....

I truly believe brian Kelly is tired of pretending to care. It’s always been said he had no intention of finishing his 10 year contract. Wouldn’t be shocked at all if he retires after next season

If he’s gonna do this, it will be after this year. The amount of talent that this years team will lose is staggering. I don’t see them getting a fresh batch of transfer like they got this year. So, if he’s going to tap out, I think it will be this year. The only question is where do we go from here

Agreed. I think he retires before he is fired

Moving forward, there has to be some sort of performance clause in these contracts. Harsin, Kelly, Freeze just get paid to suck and it doesn't matter because they'll be getting paid anyway. DeBoer has a similar contract, but at least he's shown he can win big games. It still a ridiculous buyout if he starts sucking like the above mentioned guys though.

Kelly is guaranteed 90% of what’s remaining on his contract if he’s fired. He won’t retire. If he desires to continue coaching he’ll get a B10 job.

The thought process is that he has a massive ego and has never been fired before.

He'd probably cite health issues or say he wants to spend time with his family then walk away with a settlement.

If you already have $50 mil +, what's another $10-20 mil? Is it worth the public spectacle of being fired?

Just depends on the person I guess.

Take a structured settlement and not have to deal with the pain and stress of coaching anymore, or the ego blow to his narcissistic nature of being fired. He can only bang the table, throw his players under the bus, and avoid basic press questions so long. He looks like a heart attack waiting to happen most of the time. Take 30 million and enjoy life beyond the sidelines.

Cite my penis. Anyone with two eyes (although mine are a bit crooked) can see that Kelly sucks arse. He shits the bed anytime a team of decent caliber challenges him. Hire a loser, expect to lose.

Actually BK is the one LSU head coach who looks to be in better shape after being on the job than before he took the job.

Maybe DeBoer can eventually catch his winning percentage if they do.

He’ll step down once the pressure mounts up and the criticism starts getting louder and louder. Not a chance in hell he gets fired. We don’t have the wealth that A&M boosters have.

Biggest mistake was letting fat frick Woodward become the AD here. He’s a retard when it comes to hiring coaches.

Umm yeah…. He ain’t retiring. Doubt he would even negotiate a buyout. If it comes down to it.,, going to cost LSU a lot of money.

A fricking lot.
